The other thread is getting a bit heavy, and all those postings mingle up the work-in-progress like Stroker's. That's why I decided to make this thread.

As said: C4D

Thats cool bud :D

Looks kind of like an idea I am using for a challenge entry, kinda :)

Is that light shader?

Di Tools 1 is out now as well Erik.

That looks great!

I like the attention for Cinema 4D on this board.

At the moment I'm doing mostly 3D and yes... with Cinema 4D :)

Anyone tried Bodypaint? Amazing piece of software!

Yup, Stu. I used Jenna's Iteration (glad I bought J1 in the ol' days as it's a bit expensive now if one can't upgrade) and then LightShader with coloured visible omni lights, excluding the background. Etc etc.

One of the big advantages of Jenna is that one can choose to have separate iterations or one merged object. This last option means that it's well possible to exchange with others who don't have Jenna in the first place.

Cheers Erik :D

Gfx@rt - Yep both versions of Bodypaint so far.I have seen you over at CG Talk as well eh :)

Stu.

My idea: DiTools might be offering more for far less money.
Although Allie... [honesty]

What a good idea! Sign me up for this thread. I'm sliding along the Z plane now.
I was mighty impressed with the freebie Cinema 4D CE and have just got the full V.8 Bundle kit, including Body Paint 2.

Prepare to be quizzed in the future Erik & Stu. ;)

This is my first attempt at modelling using the freebie, still WIP at the minute. Just a quick test render.

It's based very loosely on a Lotus 7'ish roadster. Still got a lot of detail to put in and a lot to learn about the lighting and texturing, but it's fun. :D

PS. This is why I haven't been around for a while, I've not been in the huff. ;)

Wahoo! "Take a ride in my car car..."

Good work man!

I've been lost in the bloodvessels of an alien:

Good stuff Al :righton: .....you are gonna love BP 2,BP1 was a different story, but BP2 damn it roks :D

I am to busy to play I have entered a comp at Renderosity fro 1000 Maxon products as forst prize, second some plugs, and third some more plugs .Have had a couple of brain farts and had to start again twice so I am trying to catch up again :)

Perhaps, who knows?

This is becoming a real addiction! The moment you get to know the basic tools, a mesh becomes like clay, and it is like sculpting.

Still, with MeshSurgery...mmmm.....

Just an update on the roadster. Starting on the cockpit next, then I'm gonna slot a custom V8 under the hood and cruise. :bustagut: :bustagut:

Do any of you guys know of a tutorial for making realistic glass for the headlamp glass? I tried the Turbo Squid but only came up with a model for sale.

Al.

This is becoming a very impressive car!

There are indeed several tuts on cars, and i suppose glass must be in them. I'll look around...

Some good C4D forums can be found at

www. creativecow.net
www.cgtalk.com

...

I'll add more later on...

Thanks Erik. I had a quick look at that link. There seems to be some useful info there for me to follow up on.

It has been bookmarked. I'll go back later for a decent prowl. :righton:

Al.

You're welcome Al. But I have to admit, CGTalk.com (the one Erik mentioned) is the best place to visit.
Something else that might be obvious, but some people seem to forget; search in the archives of these forums (especially Cgtalk and Renderosity).

You have for example a question about the 'bridge' tool?
No problem. These archives are like one huge knowledgebase! :)

Just popped by to admire... :)

Nice 3D work here gurus! %} :righton:
