Alistair, make sure you mow two lawns each day, have a garage sale or sell some stuff to friends or family, tell your mom you do all the dishes every day for a few $, make sure that you keep your A's on your report card and you'll have Cinema 4D in no time.

Just look at my son (he's 14)...last summer he had a $1,000 in his hands!

last summer I got almost $2,000 on my hands [stuned] But then i used it all up. And im friggen sick and tired of the boos at the one company I worked for, so ive decided not to come back after schools out (btw, its summa!!!). So, i still need money though, hmmm. I'll think of something clever [innocent]

Alistair .. you could be looking at the solution ... your computer .. let me put it this way, what would I do if I were 15, had a clever brain (oh, I wish), a computer and computer skills and wanted to earn some money.
Answer: I would probably build websites for very small bussinesses (at a fair price) .. and I would sign them up for site maintainance (a nominal fee)
Why: I could work my own hours, would be my own boss, ... it would extend my portfolio of real experience (building for the future) .. it would give me an independant income doing what I like doing .. creating on the computer

anyway that's my 2 cents worth

One summer I worked 2 full-time jobs. I had a ton of money and no time to spend it. Used it to get an apartment and furniture. Still had plenty left over to party with.

Yesterday something happened that hadn't happened in a long time. I actually had some serious time to myself. So I did a character. Fully articulated hands. Face would use some tweaking, but it's proper geometry for facial expressions. That is, the face can also be fully articulate with a full range of expressions (just a matter of rigging it, which isn't exactly easy).

Alistair, I'm sure this guy can be quickly recycled for more characters. You know, like a mesh template or something.
