Photoshop Challenge week # 12

Like last time i suppose, still waiting for that cheque to stop bouncing.

Lol haven't bounced a check in40 years I ain't starten now lol

Nice image Clare, just a little lost in there if you know what i mean.

Very good.
Only one suggestion. Put all dark spots in one group and use main shape as mask to it. Then shadows from those spots will not go outside body.

Thank you Senior S! I know the spots look kind of like they are floating on the body, but I didn´t know how to fix it, I will try to do what you have suggested, as soon as I understand what "putting all dark spots in one group and using main shape as mask to it" means lol. (not what it means, I understand what it means, I just don´t know how to do that lol.) :)

I was thinking more like this Clare

ha ha ha. i spose it is easier to see all the detailed pen work, but I just got lost myself in the awesome scenery. Though I will admit, in actuality the scale is not quite as great as I made it appear.

not finished yet, but everything apart from what is actually inside the interface was done with the pen tool (minus the gradient background) no shape presets whatsoever, i need to learn how to get a decent looking curve for the skull bit though.

BRAVO Zee! There, you see? You are not shit with the pen tool anymore, you have done a really good job! Aren´t you glad that you tried? :)

And she did. She tortured a snake :)

P.S. Vafann, i'm just joking. The snake is good.

LOL thank you Senior S, you never have to to explain that you are joking when it comes to my stuff, I understand, and I joke about it myself. lol. :)

Hi guys. Honestly! what is the big deal. :bustagut:
JK. It's tricky but it's just waiting out there to get its butt kicked.

I used to be so fearful of the pen tool. I would try it out for 60 seconds, get frustrated and quit till the next time, try it for 90 secs, get pissed off, quit . . . and so on. But who is it who says, "pentool is your friend?" Hawkeye I think. He is right.

Now that I have used it, I am so very glad I took the time to learn and practice -- which if you ask me is what it takes, not skill so much but practice. I'm still learning tricks, but Vafann, the first tut you listed is excellent and gives good tips right off the bat. If you've never used the pen tool, you may have to watch closely and review what he is doing, but he is very clear (and when he got into using the alt key, now that was news to me and very useful).

Another thing I had found a mystery while using the pen tool, which he clears up, is that you cannot make a curve around anything greater than a 90 degree angle. Very cool.

One of the things I learned through trial and error is pulling those handles out, not just rotating them to get around the larger curves. The more they pull out, the straighter the line and so on. The direction changes are a bit trickier but all it takes is getting it right once to understand the idea.

So that's my input. Not saying I've got it conquered. Here's a simple one based on one of the requests we had. I have traced around the white heart and filled it in with rose pink. I will now move on to a more difficult one to challenge myself.

Thanks for this challenge Vafann; it's a good one and not only will it get fun, but you will be so very happy to be able to do it. And by the way Sierra, thanks for a great week 11!

WOW! That was great Clare, and very inspiring!:). Oh, and yes, thank you Sierra for last weeks challenge, sorry that I didn´t mention it, I wasen´t really ready to start this challenge, I found out that it was my turn when I woke up and just hurried to get something down. :)

OK, I bow to your wishes . . . this is placed in 7 Sisters Cave, named by me! Well, I used to own the property. Uh, that was before the kee-rash.

How cool! What a feeling of something it gives me. I´m not sure whether what I am feeling is lonliness or peace, it brings out some kind of emotion anyway, and is lovely to look at. :)
