Favorite Summer Pictures

:D thanks Joy, Stanislav and Sean! Glad they were fun to view. I'll be looking forward to see your pic of Patrick's State Park too! :righton: :D

A dandilion with visitor I found yesterday...

:D

Great pics and beautiful colors maya :}

Oh... and the Agave must be hundreds years old

MMMM Agave! MMM Tequila! hahaha

more great pics Kid.

Here are a few more from Central America, starting off with my youngest sis and I out after celebrating her birthday a few years ago.

Yeah, that really is an authentic WKRP in Cincinatti T-shirt, too. haha.

And the things I had to go through to get teh last pic of me next to a Cactus in Arizona.. The spitting cactus is a real. B*%ch to deal with.

This is Lago Atitlan in Guatemala, surrounded by volcanos. These were taken around 6am.

I don't know why, but I love taking pics first thing in the morning. It's so peaceful at that time.

:D Glad you enjoyed them Stanislav and Ric! I think this particular Agave was around 80 years old. I was really impressed with it!

Mmmmm Tequila! hahaha...Jose Cuervo anyone?! 8} I love Margaritas! That agave might make a few... hahaha [innocent]

Great pics too Ric! You and your sister look happy there (fun T-shirt btw, I happened to enjoy that show loooong ago) Arizona cacti and Guatemala volcanos -- very cool!!! :D :righton:

I'm really enjoying these pictures! I will have to pick up the hubby's camera and take a few shots. The only thing I have in abundance this year seems to be earwigs. :bustagut: They are everywhere this year! Wonder how many I've swallowed in my sleep. \:]

ricib I can't believe you actually took the time to photograph that cactus stuck to your leg before you removed it! :bustagut: :bustagut: That cracked me up! My husband wouldn't have held still enough for me to get a good shot of that. (it may have made a good action shot though. *snort*)

Maya, your pics are great! Not singling anyone out though because they are all super pics! I just love your moon picture, we were out on the deck the other night doing the exact same thing with our new camera.

Thanks for sharing!

Recib - Ouch --what we won't do for a photograph. I love those Arizona cactus too. I was awe struck the first time I drove through the desert country side --it looked professionally landscaped.

The morning scenes of the volcanos are incredibly tranquil - is it the early morning sky that makes the blues so wonderful? - if so, thats a good reason to get up so early ...a hangover is the only other good reason I can think of.

Sheba looking forward to summer scenes captured by the new camera! Takes hours to read the instructions yes?

Raven -
Stunning dandelion, nice to see the bee enjoying too!

And I finally caught a summer weed in the middle of spewing its seed! (altho I'm not really happy about the seed landing in my garden)

And I got another dragonfly in my back yard! Actually I think there are 4 or 5 flying about but I only manage to photograph the ones that land. I liked the shadows, it was early morning

Dragonflies hold a special place in my heart. :\

But I think the story is better suited for a medical forum instead. I'll just say that I had a knife and the container I used was a mason jar that needed ventilation. OUCH!

Recib oooooho .......So the picture brings memories.
Yes the curious mind will have its way! It's the way of science.

These exotic creatures have visited my yard each summer but this year more than ever and more friendly. Now I want to try to make a short movie of one hovering, if I'm successful, I'll post on the jazz site.

I love that sky! It makes the whole image so dramatic. Great!

(I could have sworn I'd seen that before.) ;)

Joy,

If you do manage to capture a dragonfly hovering, please post a link to the movie if possible. I'd love to see it! That picture is wonderful.

Did I already post that??? [confused]

Geez, Alzheimer's hitting me already, Welles. Lemma find another one.

Lee, it was quite a while ago (in forum time). As you are participating in a number of imaging forums, it's easy to forget! [confused]

...AND it is a super image!

OMG LEE that is incredible! Did that start as a photo or was it illustration first, I actually can't tell -- its so real --What you do with water reflection is amazing - and I really like the grey. 8D ga-ga over this!

Welles Thanks about Homer the dragonfly - I'm still working on it. Damn they are fast and undecided on which direction they want to go. And they dive boom at each other all the time. I can't tell if its fun or war. I'm using a dig cam Minolta Xg and it's movie ability is limited. I'm not sure its really possible with this equipment but I'm gonna try.
