Hello all,
I’ve been trying to do this for a bit and I don’t really know what the best way, less time consuming and more effective.
I have a jpeg image with a pattern on it. See jpeg attached.

I would like to be able to extract the dark color from it and put it in a file without background. My aim is to use this pattern and put it in a text in an other design I’m doing in Illustrator.
So far the only option I know of is selecting with the magic wand tool bit by bit of the pattern. Do anybody have another solution.
If this is the only solution, would some just point me the steps 1,2,3….10 to that I should exactly do to make sure that I don’t run into trouble down the road at certain point. Indeed, I never selected as much different parts, I would want to lose any part, or erase anything or else.
Thanks for reading !
