Hey, thr's some great stuff here, awesome job Alistair. I have some stuff to post here, or I will soon.

Sanby

Well, I better get posting stuff here, I said in the biggining we shouldn't be talkin much about things rather than complimenting artwork, and im braking my own rule [shhh] :D I know I already posted this in the wings 3d thread, but I've made changes to it and Im very proud of it since I manages to make the whole thing out of just one torus :D (and before you ask, at first it was a accident, but now its suppose to be some sortof dragons mouth with sharp teeth and revolving blades in it's mouth 8[ ) :

Alistair: (and before you ask, at first it was a accident, but now its suppose to be some sortof dragons mouth with sharp teeth and revolving blades in it's mouth ) :

8[ indeed! I'm glad that you answered that question, before it got asked...

K, here is something that I just did, let me know what you think.

EDIT: Link removed (dead)

Looks great Sandby, you did a good job on that one! :righton:

One note though...don't forget that most people use 1078*768 and don't like to "scroll" through art...takes away a bit of the impact ;)

Awesome! :righton: What gaus??? [confused] 1078*768? Isn't it 1024*768? O, mabee that's one of those nice mac monitors your talking about? Because I've never heard of a 1078*768. Did you just say most people have a 1078*768? I doubt that. I have a 1024*768 but I still is big enough to make me scroll horizintily and vertically, so I suggest you do size that down a bit Sandby ;) Gaus, if you ask me I believe the most common screen res people use is 800*600, whici btw makes me GAG when I see icons and everything that big! [stuned] :D

Great work Sanby! :righton: Looks like something I once saw under a microscope! [confused]

[shhh] I'm sure that Gauss mean't 1024*768, Alistair and that was nothing but a typo. ;)

Yes, I meant 1024x768, like you meant to say "or" instead of "o,", "you're" instead of "your", "maybe" instead of "mabee", "it's still" instead of "I still", "horizontally" instead of "horizintily", "res" instead of "resolution", "which" instead of "whici"....

Sorry, just couldn't resist :D :D :D

K, I see what you're saying. I'll make another copy and size it down, I'll post it in multiple sizes. I run mine at 1280x960

Sanby

Sanby ... [confused] ... am only getting a 'grey' page with your copyright at bottom when i follow your link [confused]

Does anybody else have similar problem? Mine works fine and I know some others viewed it.

Sanby

Sanby .... I think the problem may be in your code, which is .... <div align="center">
<p><img src="DISEASE.JPG" width="1280" height="960"></p> .....
so I guess my computer is saying "ok, I'll get a pic .... umm, no addy, can't find, so here's what I can read ... a grey background and some text" ....
perhaps you changed the code at some stage??

:bustagut: Well one problem gaussian. First of all im trying to type without looking at my hands, and very fast too. (its a teacher torshure thing :( ) :D And, second of all this cordless keybard and cordless optical mouse aren't really helping. Look at the pic. My communicator is about .5 inches under my monitor, and 1 inch away from one of my flat speakers (the ones that hook up to my sub-woofer)!!! So these devices are giving me great performance, but the battaries aren't lasting as long as they are suppose to. And I can't get this freekin mouse to stop flashing at night when not in use and wasting battaries! [upset]

Well my freeking pelling is exshullent so ther [confused] .And ike I albays say "Shot hapens! :D

:bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut: Stu!

Sanby... I just tested the link again, and it works on my end. Ian and Sue, I wonder if you're giving the page time enough to fully load. It is a huge graphic (1280 x 960 @ 898KB) and takes time... :\

Sanby, this is something for you to keep in mind... those of us with slow connections will "move on" if we don't see the picture appearing on the screen. ;)

don't think that is the answer Wendy (nice try tho ;) ) when you think about it..... Ian waited and read the source code........ I have tried the shift+F5, emptied my temp internet files, viewed the source code and watched as I shift+F5 again and see that the image isn't even trying to down load :D
sfm

[confused] maybe a "browser" issue then? All I can say is that it works for me. ;) I'm on a 56k modem, running IE5. [innocent]

Hi Sanby, we went through this "browser issue" before if I remember correctly... your I-Frames are as Mark indicated before.. IE specific... nothing in those frame show up in Netscape and like browsers...

Another thing other than making the page either 750 x ?, and or fluid in that they will expand or contract even down to 640 if required... is... those cool BG graphics are nice, and do make a person feel welcome, but they are non the less the bg, not the content, and thus either making a seamless tile to fit as BG and or setting say the left hand side image as bg for both... this way ya don't have two different images loading thus shaving some valuable seconds off of your load times...

hth some... every little bit counts eh?... excuse the bit pun...hehe

I likes, no make that luvs the look and coloring of your site ... :righton:

I don't have any iframes on my page, I made sure not to put them in because of what Mark said.

Ok, so you are saying that if I make my width 750x what ever then it will adjust to the resolution of the user?
