3D 3d show off room

Strange, why is my signature sometimes moving up in a new post? [confused]

It should be on the bottom line all the time and sometimes it is [confused]

Edit: see, now it's on the bottom line, in my previous post it was moved upwards 8[

Very bizzare... I have noticed mine doing that as well [confused] Not to mention the other dorky things that go on in the 'post a reply' page.

Still kind of working on Fart Blossom. Her hooters are looking much better, thank you very much.

But right now I'm practicing modeling a face. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it to my satisfaction. This one is definitely much better than previous face attempts.

Went with a 3 plane reference set up: front, side, and quarter. I thought this would be hard to set up, but it wasn't as bad I thought.

First is the wireframe. Second is a smoothed version with a photo slapped on real quick-n-sleazy.

I know this is crazy, but it would be really cool is the hair on the eyebrows, head, etc. would actually be 3d ;) :D (I know, its to much work [stuned] ) Other than that its looking :righton:

Yeah, yeah. Eyebrows and hair. Maybe some day I'll figure it out. Or maybe get the demo of Shag Hair.

Kind of jumping the gun with the textures because I'm still not finished modeling. Who am I kidding? This is as far as I'll get with the modeling.

You can't really tell in this, but the lips are in a seperate channel with a mask. This is so I can work on the lips in a seperate doc and at high res. That is, the face is huge and the lips are huge each in their own doc.

Hopefully she doesn't look too plastic.

[stuned] That's gotta be tough!

Very nice work Stroker! :}

All games have charectars that look like plastic, even the really good games like splinter cell, you can tell its fake. so dont wry. ;) if youre just making a model for free time i dont think you should really worry to much about that.

For everyone who doesn't have a 3D app. but wants one:

Computer Arts mag has a freebie Maxon Cinema 4D 6CE on the cover.
Registration only required.
Only limited by render size, (600 x 400) but can be upgraded to full render size for ?76 / $120 US. Otherwise it's fully functional.

The upgrade gives the full package formerly known as Cinema 4D 6XL.

I'd suggest anyone who gets a copy to buy the 4D XL handbook, ?30.

Go get it while it's hot folks!

What's the origional price of the full prog itself? Is it worth it to subscribe and then also pitch in $120? [stuned]

Original price for Cinema 4D XL6 retailied about ?1300 when it first came out.

Current version 4D R8 is about ?460 for the core app, rising to just under ?2000 for the Studio version.

You don't have to subscribe, just buy the current issue of the mag.
And you don't have to pay for the upgrade if you don't need it.

Al.

:D Thanks for the info Rantin'!!!! :righton:

Upgrading is indeed interesting as you get the full capacity of Cinema 6.3 for very little money. (SLA was, and is not included!)

I've just been testing a new plugin for C4D 8 called Lightshade. It can scale and colour the shading of each individual light on each individual object. Just having some fun between two drawing sessions, no high art, still: enjoy!

[saywhat] Just "awesome" Erik!!! :} I love the symbolism...

[confused] And this is a "tweener"????

Thanks, Wendy. No, the deformer I used is called Nickl and is in the same suite as Tweener. The suite is called Jenna, and is made buy one of the most unconventional geniuses of the computerworls called David Farmer. He was half of the plugin makers known as Bhodinut, and is now Cidertank. Yes, the names he choses are indeed a bit bizarre...(Jenna, Praline, Smells Like Allmonds, Nickl, Dirtynuts, ...)
The lights were influenced by Lightshade by Arndt von Koenigsmark, another Cinema hero.

A tween is something like a morph: you go from one object to another, and you see all intermediate forms. Like a face changing in a hooro movie, and the seeing all intermediate steps together one at the side of the other. I'll post an example soon.

Yes, I got the magazine and the programme - but where do I get the book? I checked one or two book sites but the book available was version 7, not 6.

8} 8} 8} :} Erik!

%} You "tease", you! [:I :P

:righton: Beautiful "playtime/experimental" results... and, yes, you're really beginning to 'peak my interest'! [stuned] [excited]

I'm glued to my chair...next installment PLEASE! %}

[shhh] For someone who knew *absolutely nothing* about 3D, this time last year (and knows/appreciates just that much more now)...I'm getting excited! :D
