3D effect...

First... i didn't make that filter. Wish i could, but math bugs me... A LOT! The author offered to make this filter for me to my specs. And he did an A1 job of it too. His nick is "Kangaroo". In case you wanna search for other filters by him.

Second... ya sorry about that, it's a PC filter. I only know of one place that offers Mac versions of Filter Factory filters: http://showcase.netins.net/web/wolf359/plugins.htm

Just above the master filter list is this link: Open a new window to view FX samples of each Gallery and Collection. Use it to preview the filters.

He has a kazillion or so filters. If you see any you like, just email him with a request to have them converted to Mac. Read his notice about that also.

Thanks for the information. I know what you mean about math. Those numbers make my head swim. I admire people who can take the math and make it do something, like filters.

I hope you know I was just teasing you about the Mac thing.

Regards. :)

Did I ever mention how much I love tutorials? Especially when they're not the same boring stuff on every single doggone site. }:\ I mean I guess that those tutorials have their place but I'm glad we here get new and original stuff. :righton: Excellent tute Mark! ;) Class A stuff. Here's my try :D :bustagut:

Ok I made a new one only because I thought the last one was a little...umm [stuned] ....not me. This one is much more my style! :bustagut:

ooo i like that one too. :righton:
Nice water/reflection effects.

TIP:
If the water is moving (the visible caustics say it is), you might want to save a copy separately as a dMap, and apply it to the reflection. Use a selection of the water to confine the effects of the dMap. :B

Lily, I love the bracelet that you made, combining two different tutorials! :}
Lompoc42 - excellent tut results! :righton:

Thanks guys. I did the displacement map. Came out well I think. I don't know if it took to the water as much as I was hoping but hey. No biggie! :D And Mark! That avatar is too much!! :bustagut: :bustagut: I had to play with it. I hope you don't mind! MYSTERIOUS PHOTOSHOP MAN!!!

All bow before the power of the Keeper, Terror of Mongo!

ljiljana, how did you get the bracelet to twist? I can't figure out the effect.

Looks like a villian from Flash Gordon.
Well better Flash Gordon the "Flesh Gordon". :bustagut: [sly] (you'll need to be a certain age to understand that reference) ;\

MARK!!! I've told you before to stop picking at it - your face will never heal that way!!!

Mark Nice avatar. :righton:

Lompoc42 Very funny. :D

Wendy and Moth thank you. ;\
ljiljana, how did you get the bracelet to twist? I can't figure out the effect.

Using Eliptical Marquee Tool make a selection stroke with 2px. Copy the layer and use transform tool and set rotation to 1. Then press Shift/Ctrl/Alt (for PC) to repeat transformation as many times as you want. You know the steps from here. And , yes I use adjustment layers to tweak the curves.
Glad you like it. :)

Jeeze, make me feel even older. :P

to ljiljana... Thank you! Here I was thinking I needed to do some creative masking of layers and not getting anywhere.
