1st Flyer

gautamz07... if That wavy fuzzy thing at the bottom is to hide contact details.. try putting a false one in so we can see what it would like in full so we can give a better detail advise on this area if needed..

.....

That said, however . . . how many people will notice seeing as I do that mostly good grammar is given little priority. It is one thing to speak informally or idiomatically. It is another thing to write that way except when you know it is appropriate to do so. This being also true: if you don't know how to draw, you can't take liberty with the rules. ANd of course, the rejoinder is, of course you can. You sure can if you want to avoid the hard part of your education.

In the end it's your choice. I will now step down from my tedious soapbox. Any and all are welcome to exclude the reading when I go off down my proper English grammar trail!

Looking at gautamz's first version of the flyer and the 30% line, I can't help be reminded of how English is used here in Asia as it's spoken in a variety of "colorful" ways.

To Americans, British and Europeans , it's grammatically wrong. But to the people in the Asian country, it's widely accepted and used everywhere even in Parliament.... .

Examples of this are Taglish (Tagalog+English), Mangrish (Malay+English) and the most famous of all here - Singlish (Singapore English) .

I don't know how it is in India but I got a pretty feeling that the local use of English there must be"colorful".....

Relak, lahhhh, Aunty..... don be so like dat, ... you don play-play or you kena wallop, lah, then you know....

LiZad tok kok oni..... :bustagut:

I accept this explanation, oh venerable one.

Thank you for the correction as I did not take cultural/local color into consideration. Guess I wrongly assumed this would be formal Queen's ENglish. Colorful? The US has so many dialects that it can seem like going to a foreign country when moving around from east to west to south. There is even a city in Northern California (Eureka) where citizens created a new language just so they could speak above their kids' heads. Don't know if it is now defunct or not, but that is taking idiom in a new direction! You cans't even learn to speak it till you're over 18. Yipes.

My apologies all.

By the way... you are without doubt valuable... But What's a tany rate ?... he..he..he.. :bustagut: just kidding... Please don't beat me.

Never fear. I would never beat such an innocent illiterate as yourself. :bustagut:

But I am gladd I'm not the only one who went rambling off-topic in this thread. My apologies to guatamz. For both of us, righto?

And at tany rate? Hah, you are obviously and truly illiterate if you don't recognize that phrase. I thought everybody . . .

Dictionary definition (also available in the pictionary)

at tany rate means forget everything I just said

hahaha , Div ur soo bad .

but they are one of the most interesting , funny , intelligent breed of humans and also probably have one of the funniest english accents . :D :D

That has to be true Vee. I speak with India every time I need tech help with my computer or software. I realize that is partly because the help is cheaper there, but no shortage of brainy computer folk either.

Haha IB since your're from the US , yes alot of your're helpdesk are based in india and philippines. philippines is slightly more prefered because their accent sounds more US and india is prefered because of good infrastructure and less labor cost . though the primary reason for both these countries to be singled out is because of the highly literate population and the low cost of hiring them . in india there is alot of liberalization and privatization too .

and talking of the computer geniuses , well india as a whole is a very big portion to point at . Just like you have california in the USA . we have a city is India which is called the IT HUB , Do you know which city it is ? ...... Its BANGALORE , also called BANGALURU .and I Live here :D .

May be the next time you connect to india , you can ask the other person on the line "are you in pune ? or Mumbai ? or Delhi ? or Bangalore ? " :D :D

guess that makes me the 3rd person going off topic .

:offtopic:
