Wow thank you soo much for your interest :) Iam , i loved your simple effects , am for sure in my design i'll add the extra large shadow to the middle image . and Paul , how on earth did you make such awesome sparkles ? LOL , I Love those sparkles .

That's not how it appeared in the shop's In house promotion posters. The background is actually the texture for the numbers and removing the clipping mask exposed it in its entirety . I quick edited the rest for posting here - less the shop logo and some of the font's transformations most especially the OFF.

It was just my way of saying .... change the OF in your work to OFF ....... :bustagut: .

Hey guys my boss was outstation for a few days thats why this poster was shelved for a few days , well as you'll know this poster does't have much text . so i just added the text and taught i'll post it for a final review.


can you tell me if the text right on the top needs a better effect or does it look too plain ?

I would bring the top text down so there is more "white space" from the top margin. Even if it bleeds into the image, you can make that text a contrasting color. Gives a little more interest.

I would still remove the word on from the discount statement. 30% off services says it all. The word ON is extraneous and poor grammar. It will also give more space to that announcement of the discoutn.

Overall, looks great. Keep up the good work. I hope you find some $$$ in your career for this kind of work.
 
personally i agree about the word ON.. However if said 30% off on ALL services, then that might attract more interest.

That wavy fuzzy thing at the bottom dos it no favors, i would put the flyer in the trash as i can not read where you are or phone for more details of the offer because you can not read it.

Keep going though.
 
Thats an interesting idea Ibclaire , I should try that . By the way , i just joined a new firm a couple of months ago and accidently landed in graphic designing , i really like this job . By the way , on the funny side , you sounded like my mom when you said "$$$" haha .

Inkpad , thank you for joining in , and i think your right "30% off on ALL services" sounds better and the bottom part is a little confidential as IB rightly pointedout :D :D
 
Garsh you guys. Gramma Queen here gives up. DOn't you see that on and off are diametrically opposed to each other? One thing is on or it is off. It can't exist (in our present reality -- maybe you guys do too much gaming) in both states.

That said, however . . . how many people will notice seeing as I do that mostly good grammar is given little priority. It is one thing to speak informally or idiomatically. It is another thing to write that way except when you know it is appropriate to do so. This being also true: if you don't know how to draw, you can't take liberty with the rules. ANd of course, the rejoinder is, of course you can. You sure can if you want to avoid the hard part of your education.

In the end it's your choice. I will now step down from my tedious soapbox. Any and all are welcome to exclude the reading when I go off down my proper English grammar trail!

It's a good poster and probably nobooooody will notice or care or about one little word, lol. I amuse myself with this need I have to play English teacher. But I hope you'll forgive the tendency, as I think my desire to advise, teach, and discuss is also what makes me a valuable member of the forum. That is how I judge our most helpful members at tany rate. Participation in any manner is appreciated! (except for the obnoxious trolling and spamming and flaming)
 
You will have to forgive my ignorance when it comes down to English grammar ibclare, but I agree with you, i spent most of my school years not being at school and getting up to no good, right down to the day I got my first born.

At that point only did I change things.. My girlfriend .. now my wife.. changed everything for me and made me a good person ( well i think so anyway ).. But one thing is for sure.. I wish i had gone to school... Then most of my adult life was spent in the military after school where i still struggled to learn when it came down to education courses..

So for those looking in ... GO TO SCHOOL ... LEARN & ADAPT.. UNDERSTAND & OVERCOME ... you will be thankful if you do later on life... you see it still affects me now at this time of life not having being educated as I should have been, especially since i do have a mild form of learning disability.. and not going to school i do believe has contributed to lack of education i now suffer in later life..

SO GO TO SCHOOL.

Sorry for the ramble.
