Hi, I'm currently an active service member and my unit is have an big anniversary coming up and I'd like to restore the pictures of 33 of our members that passed during WW2.

I have photoshop cs5 and I'm decent with it, not amazing but I can fix minor things its just that some of the photos are very pixelated. Another problem I have is these are the only photos we have of these members remaining there was a fire in the build last year and a lot was lost so I'd really like to be able to restore these photos I'm just not good enough to be able to do it.

I'm new to the site so it won't like me post links or anything on the board yet but I can provide a preview of a picture to anyone that will be will to take a look at them.

thank you to anyone that can help

Yes they are black and white. theres no dmg to the picture such as rips or folds or anything they are just pixelated badly. Let me make 5 post then I can put a picture up

this is one of them, some are in better shape but this is one of the worse ones

Yup.....that will be some work, post one of the better ones up...I suspect you will love the better ones and like the poor ones...I will try some of "Toms Tricks" when I get to the other 'puter

That first image seems to show the grid in your workspace, in ps work space, how is that? Any idea where these pictures originated from?

Here's a shot at the first one. Good bit of work but not too bad. This is decent and would print pretty well I think. Could stand some more work for sure.

You could probably use the clone tool to cover up the areas where I see that grid,in the first image I just gave it go and came out pretty good. Much more tweaks needed but that would improve it quite a bit for a good start

Where is it?

Here is the second one, it is in pretty good shape but some more tweaking can improve it more

Where is what, the image? I didn't save it I just looked to see if what I thought would work and it did. Is that what you refer to as it?

Just a guess but I suspect he either means the clone tool (not very likely) or the grid that you see in the image.

Hold on ill get on comp and blowup the area and show

Go to Reddit.com r/restoration section and they will fix your Photos better than you could ever hope for - and for free.

Ask the redditors (Volunteer Photshoppers) for Tips along the way.

I edit pictures there to pass time, and sometimes for Humor or to Make Someone Smile. That's the Only Pay some of them receive. So Remember to say Thank You.

I've seen some of these Photoshoppers do Works on a Restoration that I could never even Hope to Achieve.

Take Care, and I Hope that Helps You Complete Your Project in a timely manner, and You Learn and Have Fun at the Same Time.
