Well Yeah

I hate waiting to hear about test results! Think positive, hang in there and good luck!

Just saw this thread. Yep, ticker problems are scary. I have Atrial Fibrillation, swallow warfarin every day of my life and have sore fingers all the time from testing blood. Good luck to you hope it all works out.

Awaiting for doctor's findings can be the most anxious moments one has to go through.

The important thing is that the doctor be decisive on what steps should be taken. And not send you off to another specialist.

Be strong, hershy.

When I had my surgery back in 2000 I had two valves leaking, right now there is only one that is leaking. The person who did the echo today thought it was my aorta valve that was leaking. Not sure how bad it is, even after looking at the screen.

It's easy for me to say this but whether the other person can do it is another matter.....

Until you hear from the doc, try keep all thoughts of this aside . It may not be easy for you to do but having the will to do something else to keep your mind occupied with good things can help keep your spirits up and may have a positive effect on you.

Went and had a pullmanary function test done today. Had a little trouble at first with the test. After a few tries I got it right. These tests tend to leave you light headed and give you a slight head ache. They have you do a few different test with normal breathing and another set of tests after taking an inhaler. There was no difference in the two sets of tests for me. So good news, I don't have asthma....course I already new that. I'll have the results of today's test in a few days.

Just found out I wont need surgery on my heart or anything any time soon so that's good. Guess my bad luck might be turning around. But I'll hold off buyin that lotto ticket lol.

Hi Hershey - I just saw this thread. I had seen the "Well Yeah" title listed, but didn't realize it was about anything serious. I'm sorry you are going through all this. At least it sounds like you just got a bit of good news. I know it's easy to say stuff like "Get well", and "Heart surgery is nothing to worry about these days", but that's only if you're talking about someone else. If it's "you", you've got every right to be anxious. Anyway, good luck with any future tests.

To end on a funny note, a cardiac surgeon brings his car in to the shop for a valve job. He strikes up a conversation with the mechanic, and the mechanic eventually asks him, "How come you can charge $80,000 for a valve job, but I'm just as careful as you and I can only charge $800?". The surgeon thinks for a minute and replies, "The motor is usually running when I'm working on it".
- ka-ching!

Best regards,

Tom

That is good. One big anxiety out of the way for now, hopefully for a long time.

But . . . it sounds like a great time to go buy that lottery ticket, IMHO!

Well, best of luck on that. Let's see, I think the chances of winning are only 1 million to one. But as they say, someone always wins. My late husband used to say that the odds are like being hit by lightning twice in one day (or was it three times). Of course, you could go test the theory by standing outside in a thunderstorm. No fair carrying a metal rod though.

I heard that same thing. Don't worry I won't be carrying around a metal rod with me. Ive been shocked a few times to know that lighting would really hurt lol.

I just got back from the doc. Talked to him bout the results from my echo done on my heart. According to him it all looked good. The leak was mild and I probably wont need any work done for years.
