Two messes


tis a laughing person with their eyes closed tight, look at it on the side and it looks something like that:

geddit? if not just push the XD bit aside, it's my easy amusement.

applying layer masks is basically right click the layer mask, then press apply layer mask, if and when it pops up. then it makes the transparent bits permanently transparent.
 
Selecting objects (especially hair) is always a thorn in my side. I've seen so many tutorials on how to do it, but the photos I'm working with always seem to have too much color all mixed up and in the way.

As for layer masks, I really started to "get it" when I thought of the layer mask as not another layer, but rather, a treatment to the layer that allows you to selectively erase. (helped for me!)
