The first colour picture

The first colour picture was taken in 1861 by James Clerk Maxwell, he took 3 pictures from this, with 3 different filters and combined them together to achieve a colour picture, I just love this and how he did it Aren't we proud on the grandfather of colour photography?? I just wanted to share this



They describe this as a "Tartan Ribbon", but it looks kinda weird

I've heard about camera obscura and Niépce, but never looked for first in color.

It's because he was Scottish more than how it looks. Just another way in which the British pushed the world forward into today's age of technology.
