I am just a casual Photoshop user. But since I am a professional programmer I write for myself a database-like program that help to learn/keep_handy known Photoshop keyboard shortcuts. It is kind of "keyword-driven". You just type some "key" words and instantly (while you type) see a list of related shortcuts. So, for example, you can type "lay" (..er) to list all shortcuts that related to layers or type "ctrl shift" for getting all shortcuts that use ctrl+shift combination or ... or... or...

The program is work okay for me and I pretty happy with it. Now I am curious - can it be usefull for other peoples as well? Please drop me a mail (to 100xcd@100xcd.com) if you interesting to try a very early (really, realy early!) version of my program.

Hi 100xcd and welcome to the board.
What kind of language are you using if I may ask?
I've been a programmer for years, but stopped doing it; I got a bit fed up with sitting behind a desk the whole day.

I still program once in a while, but that's more of a hobby :\

Well, I think it is kind of off-topic here but anyway... Currently I am using Python with wxPython. PSKbd is written in what way.

Python is a fantastic language. If you about to lost interest in programming, try Python. It is "fresh air" and truly "relaxing" language.

I think it looks neat!!! This would be a breath of fresh air for Photoshop Users. One thing that you should work on is the ability to print out the lists of shortcuts, etc. Just my two cents. Good Luck!!!

If you ever put this program up to download, keep me updated--see my email on my profile...

Wow 100xcd i think that's an excellent idea! Good thinking. :righton:

I also think that it'll catch on real well with the right kind of exposure.

If you need any help with graphics for the interface, i'm sure you'll get some offers from the fine folks here... myself included. [excited]

Keep us updated on this project ok?
Good stuff. :B

Too cool! B7 I have to agree with everyone here 100xcd!!! I definitely would love to have a resource like that! :D :righton:

Great idea 100xcd. That would certainly be of benefit for me (I'm sure there will be a lot of people interested). You're certainly willing to put in a little more effort than I am, compiling something like this.

Bring it on... :}

Thanks all for comments. I upload to my site the first public preview of PSKbd. Feel free to try it at home :-) Keep in mind, hovewer, that the program is in a very incomplete state. Many shortcuts still missed. Check readme.txt for details and contact information.

I cant get it to run on my machine. I'm running windows 2000. Please reply with any more specifications you might need to diagnose this problem. :)

[confused] I've lost track of time, but this is the most 'painful' download I've ever experienced....

[stuned] Server problems 100xcd or maybe just too many people downloading at the same time??? This is only a 2.77 MB file and I swear it's been downloading for 1/2 hour now! :{

;) But, when complete, I do look forward to checking it out!

:( Sorry for slow downloading speed. My hoster face the technical troubles again (I hear that many of the "happy clients" already leave them).

If you can't get it working please provide me a more details. Does it installed okay? Did you see any error messages?

Well it installs/uninstall fine, its just that when I go to run it, I just get an hourglass and then nothing happens. Who knows?

;\ Sorry, I made a stupid mistake. Program still refer to XML file located at my computer 8} .

I will upload a newer version today but here is the quick fix:

create a

C:\locations.xml

file with content:

<item value1="a" value2="b" />

That should fix starting problem.

Yeah... same problem as tranquil222 so I'm glad to see that you've figured it out 100xcd! :)

[confused] What's an .xml file?

Anyway, I'll wait 'til you've made the fix! ... ;)

I upload the never version:

PSKbd 0.2

It should work okay. Download speed still sucks so be patient and use download managers.

Tx 100xcd! :) I'm downloading now and look forward to test-driving! :righton:

[confused] Should I uninstall the first version or will this new installation over-write it?

I downloaded it (the server is indeed rather slow) and installed it.
It is indeed quite handy, and comes with even an uninstaller!
very good job, and thanks for posting.
We might try to find a faster server if you agree...
