Secret Message | Winner Announced

Re: Secret Message | Contest | Guess Who?

I think I may have made this a little too complicated lol...

Here's a clue guy's. "After lmgtfy I wonder what wiki has to say?"

P.s. The date on the hidden message is important.

Re: Secret Message | Contest | Guess Who?

Guy's....

We have a winner. Of all people it had to be chrisix lol

Well done mate, pm me where you want the book delivered to.

ANSWER: Louis XIV

one of the dots, easily spotted when you quote the first post

in the file you see the date 1666, which i thought refered to the great london fire
and 22/12

however, if you go to the wikipedia list of the year 1666, you can see Luois founded a scientific institute on the 22nd of december

IMHO, I find it easier to find hidden "stuff" if you just look at the source HTML. That's what I did to get the info I posted in the 1st serious response in this thread. The link to download it was right there, plain as anything.

The very dark Roman numerals pasted onto the arm of the chair also turned up almost immediately. However, what to do with the numbers and the suggestion to Google it was a whole other matter.

Great fun contest, InkZ! Thanks.

T

and someone that CAN SEE tiny little numbers !!:cheesygrin:

I just saw the 12/22 when I put the glasses on.......

Great contest, I got the arm quickly.....dots ?????

Thanks guy's...

Was great fun making it. As it happens, I got more stuff to give away. Nothing massive. I have a subscription to some Ps magazines, I don't have any use for some of them. So another contest is being written up.

Thanks to all of you for participating.

@Tom

I will have to up the game you smart arse lol

I googled the year too, after taking RTC's advice to brighten the image. But I didn't think you meant historic figures! Not that I would have gotten it right anyway. I thought you were aiming at an actor or singer of today, lol.

Congrats chrisix, mastermind of the hidden.

Now just use the dang book to some benefit :bustagut: I mean, if you can read and concentrate that is!

Inkz, great fun!!!

The link works fine for me now! But this morning my browser was getting a weird redirect from LMGTFY and I was getting these strange ads (hence my post). I had to go to work so I ran out of time. Oh well, such is life.

Just had to play with old Louis:mrgreen:

Didn't know they had tv screens back then.

Fear not IamSam....

I'm working on another contest now, with another little prize. Also, thanks for taking part.

Hey, InkZ. Is the pixellated image you posted just the face of Louie or some other part of that image? If it's just the face, how did you get from one to the other? For example, where do all the brightest pixels in your image come from? There's no white going in that direction in the original.

Tom

I know that's one of the standard ways to do it, but the problem is that there's nothing in the original that matches up with the splash of white running diagonal out to the lower RH corner in his pixellated version. So then, I started thinking that maybe he pixellated some other part of the Louie image.

T

Yup. That's what he did: He used the whole blasted image. And here I thought InkZ was a nice guy and would pixelate only the face to make it a bit easier on us.
