god this is so frustrating , there is no simple answer anywhere on google , i can not figure this out

any ideas

Select your button. Copy it, open new document. the document should open with the clipboard option. Use that for size, paste the clipboard to document. There is your new button, save it as a PNG. repeat that per button

The buttons were working fine here..........

Something changed when you added the brushed metal strips. Did you add the brushed metal layers below the button layers?

Yeah..............I think you may be right. I wasn't paying attention, but it makes some sense now that you mention it.

Not exactly, sam. I looked closely at the full image you posted and detected there's really a black background behind his buttons.

Tho in his other thread, the skin with the brushed metal he posted looked OK as shown in your second image.

Egosbar,,, did you create and save the buttons properly? Is this a second file version you're working on?

Another thing, is the original of the image you posted a jpg of the layered file or a screenshot of your Tough Jam Software Screen?

sorry guys been at work , i did get them working but they do not look as clean as the button with the black backround , in the software there is a transparency check box , it only works on the black backround and is pretty messy cut out , ive tried doing a red transparency backround to delete only red as there is no red in the buttons but that wont work , ill contact the software writer and see if he can put me on the right track

these ones i masked out just to give an idea of what i was trying to do , its not the active buttons ill post now a screen shot of the buttons that are not looking clean

i guess i have the same problem still , the buttons are importing with a black backround , the sofware has a edit feature for each button that has a transparency tick box but because they are black backround i have to hide the black and i think its picking up some shadows etc which make it not look clean heres a screenshot of the buttons working but rough edge

i filled the transparency with red to show how clean it should be , remember the software is doing the black transparency

it also looks a bit like a picture frame , i want it too look raised sort of like 3d if i can but i have too get these buttons right first

if you open the screenshot ive saved it bigger so you can see easier the bad edge around buttons compared to the one with the red backround , it was just a red fill too checkered squares transparent part of the image

if i can get this step right my next part will be too make silver round buttons with letters a-z to replace the ones that are there , the actual letter will light up when pressed , this will be pretty east as i will put them on the black backround so the black square doesnt matter , then ill do the play pause etc buttons

oh by the way this software is available as a 7 day free full trial its worth a look thats for sure , just google touchjams if you want to try it , you will also be able too see what im trying to do

i figured out the red backround was slightly different then the one the software offerered as transparent, my red after i finally figured it out was 255-6-6 and i needed 255-0-0 , so i did get it working but this button still leaves a red edge , im guessing its photoshop trying to blend the edges together , does anyone know how i can get around this , i need a clean edge so they look more realistic ive saved the button jpg as 500x 250 pixels , it has too go into the software file as 100 x 50 png , can anyone tell me how to get a clean edge so that photoshop doesnt merge colors , this i hope might get rid of the red halo

yes i think it is , i think photoshop is blending some red too the edges , giving a slightly different color red , the touchjams software is making 255 - 0 -0 transparent or whatever you type in

i guess i need to make the edge cleaner somehow but im not sure how to do this
