Questions about PSG 3D Tutorial

See what i mean?

Lily was rasterizing her type layer... but nowhere in the tute did i say to do that...?

Out of curiousity Lily... what made you decide to throw that into the tute yourself?

Mark

The mistake I made: I was applying gradiant directly to the word , to do that I had to rasterize the layer.

I apologize for that. ;\

Lily, you don't have to apologize for that. It was just a mistake. Heck, I make at least a dozen mistakes a day (on a good day I make twenty).

Ok Lily... that's fine. But like Doug said, don't apologize for that. It's a simple mistake. ;)

Did you not see all of the Layer Style filter setting screenshots i included in that tute? You'll notice that the gradient is applied within the Layer Style settings. It makes it possible/easier to edit it later if any tweaking is desired. ;)

Rantin Al: Anyone found rasterizing their base text layer will have to answer to Wendy from now on

:) Just glad to see that we got you 'sorted out', Lily! ;)
[shhh] And lay off those cocktails while working through a tute... [:I :P

:bustagut:

Been there Lily... ;)

Trying to catch up...

On the new tutes since I've been here, and I love this one!

Great work, everyone! Here's mine. I changed the metal colors. I don't like the fact that the S has jaggies, though (and no, I didn't rasterize the original type layer!

Nice results Julie! :righton:

;) Start with a bigger file, in order to avoid the visible "jaggies" that you'll inevitably get on curved/slanted letter.

I'm curious your setting

Mark?I'm amazed the work you made at Reply #7 , how did you do that effect , I tried , but still not good ,
I'm? curious your setting . if you have time , post it , please ! ;\
BTW it's a perfect tutorial ! ;)

Dang.. i can't find the original PSD for that effect. But i'm about 98% sure that the Contour setting is just left at default. I usually never set that.

I just turn it on because it brightens and sharpens the bevel effect a little more.
