Hello. I wanted to ask how to delete objects on the stock charts while keeping background and candles with Photoshop.

(For those who are not practical with the market's graphics, candles are a way of representing the price of a market, visually they look like colored candles).

An example is below, it’s about deleting all the graphic elements, leaving only the background, the black vertical lines and the black and green candles, obviously without altering them.

If you kindly show me all the steps to do in Photoshop, thanks.

Here's one way:
  • Duplicate your background layer.
  • Above that, open a Black & White adjustment layer.
  • In the B&W adjustment layer, set the Green slider all the way to the left (to turn it black) and set all the other sliders to the right (to get them to white, or close to it).
  • Above that, open a Levels adjustment layer to further darken the blacks and lighten everything else to white. Move the sliders as shown by the red arrows below.
  • Your image should look like this, which will make a good layer mask.

  • Copy the entire merged image to a new layer at the top of your layer stack (Edit>Copy Merged ; Edit>Paste).
  • Activate the Magic Wand and make sure that the "Contiguous" setting is not checked. Click the magic wand onto any white area, which selects everything that is white.
  • With that selection active, click the icon to add a layer mask to this top layer. The mask will populate with your selection.
  • Turn off the visibility of all layers except the top and bottom layers. Your image should now look like this, below.
  • There are a few stray items of text that were black to begin with, but those can be manually deleted by painting white over them.
