Hey Paul, I wondered when You would pop in!

It might be hard to see in the picture, but the purple that makes up the primary band is the primary color for the Flower of Life.

Im thinking about maybe leaving it empty and having him put some shading on the outside of the border in order to 'raise' it off the skin and give it some depth and dimensionality

Yes, I see ... indigo being an important color here.

I tried playing with the concentric ring coloration and I couldn't find a way to make it non distracting either, without it being an almost nonexistent color. I like the border idea. Paul shows how it might look.

You have used so much colors. If you use less no. of colors, like if you use combination of only 2 or 3 colors, it would make it great. Still good work.

I agree that the eye colour should be either blue or a purple/blue - the green on the lotus tips is nice perhaps a nice greenish blue like what Manda supplied....
