Please critique for a school project

lol We have all spent hours looking at an image working on it and miss a major mistake we have checked it checked again then checked again uploaded it and dang we see the mistake as soon as it is visible for the whole world to see.

Isn’t that the truth, Hoogle? I feel like that happens to me any time I put something up online. Barb, I really like the finished piece. I’m eager to hear what you got on it and what the teacher said, when is it due?

Thanks. It's been turned in, but I haven't received the grade. It did well in the class critique. The instructor's comments were that it was very hard to convey something being an object (like the turtle) and the entire world all at once, but he feels that I achieved that well. I'm very pleased.

Wow the updated version is great and can't believe this is just a school project, you have great potential and it shows. The tree is 1000 x better then before I would also suggest not have the bottom depth of the island as blurry as it is, it looks like its been over sponge tooled

Thanks. Next year I hope to start freelancing as a web designer. I'm having a bunch of fun learning this stuff. After 15 years working in finance, this is a whole new world.

About the feet: they are like that for two reasons. The first is that I was trying to get the sense that they were underwater (which was only partially effective). The second is that I was using a photo that I took under poor conditions with a seriously crappy camera. The feet of the tortise were so washed out in the original photo that they were not easy to work with.

Thanks for the encouragement.
