Photoshop Transparancy Problem (Mac)

Hey,

So when i have no background layer viewable the background is solid black instead of the grey grids. This is soooo frustrating how the heck has this happened?

I would guess new feature in CS6, isn't it ?

I'm using CS4, to me it looks like a graphics error or something....I have no idea :/

Is it possible you have changed some switch accidentally ?
It must be frustrating, I can imagine.

Quick update...seems to be fixed when only one channel is active :S very strange! anyone got any ideas?

when you create a new document is your background contents set to black or somthing?
