Photoshop Challenge - Week#2

hey Vafann!ahahah thank you... yeah , this is what i would like to do, but maybe I made some mistake because at the first time the cave painting was almost invisible on the car, so I had to duplicate the layer and adjust the opacity, brightness and use curves to have this result..but mine expectations were different... I would like to have some opinion about it, because i really don't know if it is a good beginning or what..

I love this Gabrielle. I'd say quite well done. I know from my own work you have to look closely at edges and the car needs some cleanup on the hood and on its rear end. Very, very nice. I want a paint job like that for my truck.

Here's my first try. I don't think I really had the right idea about how to use it, but I'll give it another go.

Heeelo deeerie :), That is really weird and original, but like you said, I don´t think you got the right idea how to use it, it looks more like you have used the liquify filter instead of displacement maps. I can´t quite figure out what you were trying to do, wrap Angelina around the junk yard stuff, or merge her with the water in the bathtub? You certainly didn´t try to use the easiest way to use the Displacements maps anyway :). Come on, try again! I have tried a couple of times and I´m not done yet either lol. :)

I think it´s a really good idea and a really good beginning! :)

Obvious one but had to try :)

(Belial, that was from yesterday's try not narking of yours :) )

Vafann, i agree about that Angelina. I found some textures promising tricky and not quite understandable for viewer. Like got an idea, put some beautiful sad smiling woman on clouds. Good idea but displace didn't work for me with that. Just overlay looked much better. Same with water reflection. Look cool but only one who really yunderstands what was reflecting is me :)

I've been having some trouble getting the right texture to work with various subjects; then having to adjust displacements to negative values. :banghead: I've come up with this and still working on it. LOL

You could still just add a layer mask to the texture and paint some of it out ie around the chin/neck and lips as the texture is flattening the image

I'll try that Hoogle. Part of the problem is I don't have any high resolution images I'm happy with. That's going to have to be my next project. This is a small picture off a friend's FB page.

Thanks for the feedback, both of you.

Well shoot. I went into the psd and cleaned up the eyes, lips, some other things and something weird happened: The initial mask went bye bye and the texture is all over now. Not only that, in my original composition, the rm was textured . . . ? Anyway, I messed with the jpg. Glad this isn't a serious project LOL. And I have a couple others just for fun.

Eewwww, I never thought of that, pornographic huh. That's kind of a guy thing I think, LOL. Still, I guess I won't be posting it on Facebook!
Thanks on the third. Funny how some things just fit.

(And my apologies to Robert Franks for messing with his lovely photograph of the girl and her candy cigarette. The original is very cool.)
