;) Clever girl Sue! :righton: :righton: :righton: And yes, a great way to learn how bezier curves work! Kudos to you for taking the time to teach others what you've learned. :righton: :righton: :righton: It's the "spirit" of the forum here, to do so! :D

[shhh] And all this time, I've been drawing my own shapes with the pen tool.... [confused] [confused] [confused] [doh]

[stuned] What a revelation! [excited]

;\ ;\ ;\ Well I do know enough to 'save'...

It's your "quick and dirty" method of getting the shapes to begin with, Sue, that popped my eyes open! [stuned] [stuned] [stuned] I was drawing them... [confused]

I learnt also to use pics and photographs as brushes too........ pretty neat huh :B

Yep, you da nerd girl Sue! :B :B :B :P :P :P

:\ When I think of the 'wasted hours'...

[doh] no such things as wasted hours in PS!!!! NO, I correct myself. ;) Those hours of 'drawing' taught me well!

:} But ahhhhhh, for future use... my eyes have been opened! :D

Wow some wonderful tips here! Sue your tip about selecting the shape and making a work path is great! 8} :B

thanks Linda....... for over 3 years now I had avoided the pen tool as I could never get the hang of it...... with Gare's patience he guided me through it over a weekend and I finally got the hang of it ..... of course I still need to practise but this thread for those who want to learn the pen tool is the the thread that "opened my eyes" http://www.photoshopgurus.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2600
now I use the pen tool where ever I can so that I can speed up my process he he he

This thread hits very close to home. I too put off the pen tool FOREVER! The thing just plain scared me for thelongest time. One saturday, my family was out, the lawn was mowed, I had run out of excuses, so I sat down and used it until I understood it. In the process of learning I made this katana. Someday I plan to make one more photorealistic.

Hey T, that looks great. I started this thread and STILL can not use that tool correctly. Maybe if I had a need for it but right now I don't so I keep putting off the learning curve.

Nice work. I think you have it. 8}

That looks fabulous Tioem! :righton:

Lee, you're not unlike all of us when it comes to the pen tool. ;)
The irony of it is that once you've mastered it, you'll wonder what took you so long and it'll become your most widely used tool. I'm sure that Sue will testify to this!

I can't think of anything that I do where I don't use it now! And believe me, it was only months ago that I was saying to myself that I really don't need this thing... that I can get along without it. [honesty] Only because, I had been getting along without it up until that point. Then I did exactly as Tioem did. I loaded myself up with a bunch of tutes and buckled down for a day. Since then, I've never looked back. ;)
You can do it too! :)

:righton: your right there Wendy...... just for a change on the stained glass window...... I didn't use the pen tool :bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut: try that once you know how to use it Lee he he he
