Opacity Options are disabled (greyed out)

Hi everyone, does anyone know why would the Opacity option would be greyed out on the layers palette? I am working with a 2.5 gb file with many layers, I saved it and then noticed that none of my other layers were showing even if they were checked as visible and the opacity was greyed out at 100%. Could it be a performance issue, I am at school and the hardrive onle has 4gb free space.

you saved it, how? as what kind of file?

taking A LONG SHOT HERE...... CHECK IMAGE MODE > PUT IT AT RGB, IT POB IS IN INDEX MODE

when I control click on the layers with the problem I get the selection around the objects in the layers, would that mean that there is something there?

you said layers were not showing, which is it? they are blank or not there?

compress the psd and put here so we can see

I just saw your rgb comment, the mode was set to rgb already... uploading compressed file right now taking a while sorry.. I also resized the original file to about 900 mb.. Thank you!

lol dont bother it won't work at that size

i'm willing to bet if you saved it then reopened with one layer showing, you lost the other layers

I love speaking to spam......It makes me hungry

Something similar just happened to me, and it turned out that I had just accidentally turned off the visibility of the layers somehow, and then kept overlooking the obvious. Hope it was that simple for you, too!
