Hello Mose here.
I have uploaded a Trial PS CS6

Trying to upload my first photo on my first photo problem

I click on my photograph in my windows gallery and request to open in PS CS6. Photoshop opens up and the intact ( full image) appears as a layer to the right of the PS programme. However, the image in the main screen is not entire. It has blocks of white and grey pixels on various parts of the main screen photo. I Have tried monkeying about with it and the image just blocks out and goes all awry.

Something very basic I know..

Thanks
Mose

Hello Mose.

I don't quite get you. Do you know how to use PS? Do you know how to create a screenshot? Would be great if you could upload a grab of your entire monitor view,

Hello dv8

I can find my way around PS element 7 but I have used the full monty Photoshop.

Not sure about creating a screen shot. When I use elements I just go to my windows photos gallery and click on a photo I then got to open with and chose open with Photoshop elements and the photo appears full image with the little back ground image to the right.

When I do the same with PS CS6 the image appears in the main frame but with blocks on the full image.

Attached are the screen shots from elements and PS CS6

Mose there are a couple of things you can try.
Make sure your video driver is up to date.
Try turning off the Graphics Processor.
In CS6 you go to Edit|Preferences|Performance then uncheck Use Graphics Processor.

This is an Adobe issue I have contacted them about it and it is being sorted out and an update within the next 7 days.

usually if you make an adjustment or something the image looks like it should it is just when you initially load the image it gets blocky and not displaying right. Small bug there is bound to be a few with a new suite I am just surprised it was not addressed before release it never did it in the beta stage.

The trial comes with the 3D stuff not sure I would ever use that, and maybe a ton of other stuff too.

Still it's only a trial and I have not forked out the dosh yet.

Maybe I should go for cs5 find my way around that then I may find that is all I need after all I am an amateur who wants some tweaks. But I tried the full Photoshop as I liked the Idea of stretching and thinning my female relatives to make them look like models ha ha.

Thank you for you replies folks, much appreciated.

That has worked Steve. The image has loaded without the blocks.

I will now have a good old go whilst I have the trial. I am sure I will get addicted to it and go for the pay version.

I am amazed on how much help one can get on the net with forums etc. Restores faith in human nature!!

Thanks again
