Need help with images

9) click on Windows > Paths > Make Selection...a new dialog window will pop up.
Set the feathering to
'0' and check anti-aliased 'on'.
10) hit the delete command..The background inside the path will become
transparent.
11) continue by duplicating the process in a new area. Start by setting the
first anchor point in a cleared
area the place the second anchor point where you left off in the first
section.
Continue this process until you've cleared all the background around the
subject. Then erase everything outside that you didn't clear with paths.

Good tutorial, although I don't understand why you make use of selections and not a vector mask instead.

Gaussian... so now I know. This is one of those 'rock / hard place' things. Still, it seems to me that, considering both the limitations of your storage and our internet capabilities,
(Those who are limited ), Placing things on image shack would be even more desirable. I spend a lot of my 'forum' time on another site primarily for professional designers and pre-press people. Nothing can be posted on that site. everything, including tutorials, is linked. It works well.
My resolution is 1920 x 1200. I certainly don't post images that big, but I try to make them big enough to be legible. I do understand where you're coming from and when I need to post a 'how - to' that is a bit more complicated I'll do it with multiple posts.

As to the way I did this extraction, I did explain that there were many ways to do it.
UsniperfireM doesn't appear to be too advanced with his (?) skillsets yet. I thought that the way I explained it was the easiest way for him to start out. I'd have lost him with some other techniques.
