Need help reproducing this effect

I need help reproducing this effect in Photoshop CC. Please help me out. Thanks

A couple layers.

Bottom Layer - BG - Purple Gradient

Next Layer - Text - Grey - All your text words

Next Layer - Duplicate Text - White

Next Layer - New Text - Big letters "SAVE THE DATE"

Next step: Turn the "STD" text into a mask and apply it to the duplicated white text

Next Layer - New Text - Names and date



There even looks to be a slight blur added to the grey text so only the white is sharp.

Here's how I would achieve this...

Make a gradient layer as per your choice of colors
Grey Color Text layer with all the text you would want in the background.
New Layer with the text on top (White Highlighted text).
Hold ctrl+click on this later. The letters get selected. Turn off this later clicking the 'eye' icon.
Come back grey text later. Right click + select 'layer via copy'
Color overlay this later with white.
