'Lonely' PhotoManipulation from Tutorial

For me the amount of lighting on the model dos not reflect the amount coming from the lamp, or lack of it from the lamp. The model looks well lit. but the lamp dos not look to give of enough light to reflect this. Just how it looks to me.

Ink: Your absolutely right about the lighting, it's the part i find hardest about all the images I work on. When I've got the lamp sorted I shall go back and look at that again. After you mentioned the 'amount' of light I went back and realised that I'd been concentrating on the 'placement' of the lightning and hadn't even considered how much light was been given off so this is really something I need to look at... thank you! :)

I had a quick play with the original lamp but just couldn't get it to look right so am going to work on the one Chris kindly found and see if I can get it too look any better.
I'm still training my eye to look at the perspective so if you don't mind i'll post the new lamp pic to see if you can see if it needs amending.
I've literally just cut the lamp out and plonked it in place. The edges need smoothing and stuff but I'd like to get this bit right before working on lighting, shadows, etc.

Thanks so much for your help so far!

Oh wow Chris that's brilliant!
I can certainly see the improvement which was made with the perspective of the new lamp. It's funny because I couldn't really 'see' the problem until you showed this one and now it's so obvious on the original!
Thank you for taking the time to show me what I should be aiming for

Looking good Chris, Thanks stacy.

I know you mention about not fully doing the original tutorial, but once your sorted with the lighting and the lamp, you need to concentrate on darkening the bg a little and the floor behind the model, the floor is lit way back in the image. I would darken it to just behind the model as far as the light from the lamp would take it , fading the light out the further you went back.
