little bit of help needed retouching an old family manufactured car

just blurr the windows copy then delete and paste back and change the opacity to about 30- 50 % what ever save as ping and you'll se right thru to back whatever background

been waiting to get home from work so i could work on it some more , i thought about it this morning and as mentioned i think the way to go is to shop for windows and interior

the benefit of that is i can put myself behind the wheel of an egan 6 oh yeah
then ill shop for a pic of my great grandfather and grandfather and do a title and add the story , still have to settle on a backround yet

thanks clare would love your help , im looking at seethrough windows now and then ill put myself behind the wheel , the one thing that is bugging me are the mudguard reflections and sidestep reflections , i need to make them more realistic

mmm for some reason i cant open that zip file so not sure of that option

anyone that wants to have a crack at putting see through windows in id appreciate it , im trying at the moment but i want to see inside so i can put myself as driver

oh and just to make it harder it has to be right hand drive

windscreen in now for the side windows , if someone wants to have a go at the guards and sidestep making them look realistic be my guest , im not sure im up to blending them in making them realistic enough ive had a couple of feeble attempts lol , ill concentrate on getting in the side windows

looks much better with glass now i think

i also would think the windscreen trim would be chrome , anyone know how i could do that one

also a new grill and new bonnett hood , dam i might as well build one

Yes, it does. It looks great. Chrome? Well, there's a filter if set to the smoothest might work on a selection. IDK, never tried it when it needs to look real, not just a fun fx.

dam im having a hard time with the side windows , really need to find just the right picture with the car at the right angle and looking down a little , feel free anyone to have a crack at the side windows , id like to see through to the back window ,

im still not happy with the side windows reflection but ive been trying to get it right for ages

also not happy with the overall shading especially around the window trims , the sidestep and both mudguards , i want it looking new if i can

ive spent ages on this one lol , if anyone wants a crack please do , i want that color but just a tidy up , this is a family photo when i finish that will be blown up to at least a 10 x 8 will that be ok with this resolution ??

anyway hope someone can improve on what ive done - thanks in advance

this will be about the size i use as i need space to put two torsos of my grand father and great grand father and also a heading and the newspaper clipping

anyone got any ideas on a nice suttle backround that may work

Why you now asking for backgrounds, your original request was of a template style of the car and the descriptive words?

i was always going to do some sort of backround just not too sure what yet

just probably a neutral color but i want two photos of people and the car so i thought someone might have an idea

ive tried a few colors quickly and didnt like them

no big deal just getting some ideas. its important to me this one

Search for a picture probably black-and-white of your grandfathers days of the town that he lived in you maybe Able to find a street picture that you could use

ive done that and its in the bank for now , i tried to find his workplace in geelong, just searching for any other ideas but thanks for the advice , great minds lol

View attachment 28900You can put people in the car or around the car depending on what layers you place of them in play around with this, tweak it to your tastes but that will help get you further with it

here is what i have in mind although i dont like the article composition , i know its wrong , i did want to use the original text but in reality its only text , im thinking of typing it out so it goes the length of the image under the car

ok give me your thoughts , good and bad , and ideas to improve

the two guys are not my relations just in there for pic composition so dont worry about them too much

idad im not sure how to unzip your file , i have jzip but dont use zipped files all that often , i extract and just get a picture not a psd

Nice job on all the windows egosbar. Great persistence to be admired. I like it.

I think the text placed this way is good, but I'm not sure about having it on a different parchment color, or match the BG color to the parchment. I think if I were doing it, I would just mask it, and blend the edges in, since I am sure it would mess up the text to change the hue, etc. Except I would actually change the BG color I think.

The car is great. I am not sure that the portraits blend though. I think they might need to be lighter. And I suggest you make "the egan 6" larger. OK, enuf out of me. Back to my hole.

the thing im worried about is actually being able to read the text , if i could blow up to 10x8 or more it would be ok , do you think this will blow up ok

ill change the backround color to the parchment color thanks for the feedback
