Image Size For Website

Hi Guys,

New to this forum, Just a quick question, I'm about to begin making a website template in Photoshop CS5. Was just wondering, what would be the best image/canvas size for it?

Something similar to this site...where there is a background colour with the content in the middle...basically a blog/news type template I'm creating and am just wondering the best size?

if you are talking about a wordpress style layout then a good start is 1050 pxs by 850 however this all depends on monitor size etc.

but 1050 is a good width and height of 850 will get most of the site visible.

Of course there is exceptions you add code so the layout is fluid so resizes to the monitor etc or if you have scrolling layouts etc.

Sometimes using a frame does wonders if you Make it too big.

i think the standard and the best size is 1024 x 768

1024 x XXX dude ..... its so common
