How to make this .....

B7 Cool site layout/design OpTimus! :righton:

:) thx alot bro....!! yeh i decided to take my time on this one. My last 2 sites were good, but not good enough. i didnt invest no time in them. just wanted to get the opened. really didnt worry about the quality, etc. but this go round, im taking my time and put all effort into it. I'm hoping it will be a good 1 ;) I just dont wont to take too long, i have servers up..lol

if any of you guys have any suggestions or like to crticize a little to flurish the site even more, by all means do so...

By matching the gradient to the background, OpTimus, do you mean something like this? [confused]

If so, this is what I did
1. #1B2336 colour, soft blend mode @ 100% over entire picture.
2. white - 1B2336 gradient, soft blend mode @ 50% over lower portion of
picture.

omg...lol u nailed it o the head... ok....let me see if i can do this..lol thx alot wbiss. im going now to see if i can do it..lol ill show you my results

B7 OpTimus! Use your pen tool to keep your selections "clean edged"! ;)

thx for the tip.

ok i did the first part you said. cover the whole pic "soft" 100%

now im at the gradient "soft" 50% everytime i go to the lower portion of the pic, its doing the entire pic.

Im starting to get the \hang of the layers but sometimes i lose track. im cramming all this in my head over night..lol

but we are talking about the layer pic that needs #1B2336. im doing both those steps on the same layer? lol there we go, thats the Q i wanted to get out

Oops... Sorry OpTimus, ;) I should have specified... separate layers. And, in the following order:

Bottom layer - picture
Layer 2 (above) - Overall gradient layer (white to colour indicated), soft blend @ 100%
Layer 3 (above Layer 2) - colour fill on lower half, soft blend @ 50%

Remember to use your pen tool to make clean selections! ;)

;\ And I do apologize for getting the instructions mixed up the first time. To make it up, I've sent you my PS file!

Man Ive tried all ways possible..lol I cant get that color for nothing.

any ideas?

thx

B7 Oh but it looks great OpTimus! :}

;) Use a "hue & saturation" adjustment layer to fiddle with the colour!

One more "minor observation"... on the left corner of the pic, where the upper highlight is, bring your selection over just a tad so we don't see that clean line. ;)

:) Tx RA!

Anything that 'glimmers, shines or shimmers', I like, therefore, you're bound to find me there! ;)

:righton: You did a fabulous job there Lompoc42! :}
