double click on layer and add bevel and emboss and play with the value's? i thought this would be it

Yeah Burned Ice is correct imho. Just put your strip layer over top of the gray layer. Then do a Bevel/Emboss and a small drop shadow. Just go to Layer/layer style and then select Bevel and Emboss and go from there.

wow i got it correct :) thats my first correct ( i do not have incorrect ones) answer! gotta celebrate,
to bad i did not notice the little shadow wich is making the 3D effect better

I would use Bevel & Emboss as well...but definitely spend some time to mess around with the settings you have available with it (as opposed to just keeping the default settings). That particular picture you showed looks as though the color of the inner 'highlight' of the emboss was changed (from the default color of white...to the yellow color).

You can also get some really cool glass & reflection effects with Bevel/Emboss as well...you've just got to experiment. :D

PS. Another way to get to the Bevel/Emboss menu would be to right click the layer and click on 'Blending Options'. It will show a lot of other effects you can add to the layer as well...such as shadows, strokes, etc.
