How to cut this out in triangle shape?

I'm on CS 4... dunno what the functions are like in CS5. But it should be the same except different labels used... lol..

Don't go to right click>Make selection... CTRL+click vector mask thumbnail created the selction. Right click to cut or copy layer.

I did perfectly what you said man.. but when i right click after i pushed ctrl+vector mask i can't choose "layer via copy". Here's an image for better understanding:

hey man do you know what's now the problem???I click ctrl+vector mask,then i choose right click and make selection but after i go to "layer via copy" but it's not highlighted so i can't choose it?

click on the image layer to hilight (make active layer) .

The imagelayer is already highlighted man or do you mean the white layer? I tried the white layer but still i get the same when i right click.. :s:s:s

I already said... you can't do it coz you're on the pointer tool.... select any of the selection tools then you can do it.

Ok i had the wrong selection tool.. now i have another selection tool but still "layer via copy" and stuff aren't possible to choose.. . Here's an image:

PS LOGIC behind it.... Pointer tool is to point (lol).

By choosing any selection/marquee tool, you activate the selection functions.

Did you make the layer from where you want to cut/copy active? I see you have the shape layer active......
