View attachment 14334after making your selection with pen tool right click it you will see "make selection"

oops be sure to inverse your selection, or copy and paste to new layer

Ok man thank you very much!!!! It works!

But what took my attention is is that it's very difficult to make a perfect triangle like this????I used the "ruler" tool but my triangle is not even on the 3 sides... .

How can i make that the best?

i would recommend making one line with the shape tool, on fill mode, as a new layer, and duplicating it twice

then do a free transform on both, and set the axis to the end of each line, and connect them both to either end of the original line.

after that just rotate until they meet.

at that point you could either trace over it with the pen tool, or merge them, and do a quick select

For an equilateral triangle use the polygon tool, best way I found is to turn the grid on (View -> Show -> Grid and View -> Snap To.. -> Grid)

Then using the pen tool, click the grid points to draw out an accurate triangle on the grid.

Hey guys.. thank you very much.. but the easiest way for me was just working with the grids.. and then right click and make selection.

But what took my attention is is that sometimes you have many more grids then other times.. how is that possible? And how can i make more grids when needed?Sometimes more grids is much easier in such cases.. .

I think wht you want is located in >View>Show> Show more options,
or Show> (Options)

Or you can use the Polygon Shape tool. Set Sides to 3. Lower shape layer opacity and CTRL+T to adjust shape to the image.

Wooow thank you very much man!!!! That is really the easiest way to make a triangle! But my next question is how to cut out the selected triangle becaue i lowered the opacity to 50 and then right clicked and chose "make selection" but it doesn't cutted out the triangle with the background..

Hey man it's really weird but i just can't choose "make selection".. it's not highlighted! I'm sure the wrong options are selected above!

Can you show a printscreen how you cut out with "make selection" with which options are chosen in the upperbar with "paths" and stuff..

Now i found the way to choose "make selection" but when i do i cut out an empty triangle but not the with the photo?

hey man do you know what's now the problem???I click ctrl+vector mask, then i choose right click and make selection but after i go to "layer via copy" but it's not highlighted so i can't choose it?

I'm on CS 4... dunno what the functions are like in CS5. But it should be the same except different labels used... lol..

Don't go to right click>Make selection... CTRL+click vector mask thumbnail created the selction. Right click to cut or copy layer.
