hey guys!!!

can someone please tell me how i can cut out the hard drive around and put it in a different background? i have tried using quick selection tool and the magic wand tool but everytime i do i get some white and it ends up looking hideous. if someone can help me out with this. it will be awesome. i have attached a pic of the hard driveuntitled.GIF

create a new layer below it then duplicate the hard drive layer apply a layer mask and hide it all on the duplicate, then select the original hard drive layer right click and select blending options and choose blend if by moving the white slider to the left slightly.

You will notice a slight part of the peeled back part of the hard drive also becomes transparent so on your duplicate layer paint in white on your layer mask where you still need parts of the image that has become transparent.
