How is this for a band logo?

Hey guys,
I tried using photoshop cs6 for the first proper time today and made something that could be used as a band logo. I just want your input on how it is and if i can improve on it at all.

The whole idea for the band name and logo was for a 'rebirth' to come into the world, particularly for the younger generation. Sorta like a youth revolution.

I like it BUT, I don't like the thick black line under the text I would reduce it by a lot or remove it altogether, and you need to find a way to incorporate the text with the image, maybe try the text underneath ?

Thanks for the advice. I made a couple other copies, but changed a bit with each one. Are one of these better or the original?

Well done for first time using Photoshop that is amazing what u have done , for me the last one is the best
but u need to add something more cos for me is like unfinished

Thanks Bubolan4o, I did a bit of fine tuning and got this result, which I'm pretty happy about. I understand what you mean about how it looked unfinished, but by changing the canvas size it now looks slightly more complete. What do you think?

yes that is better now, i like it .. different than the other band logoes which i've done but still its really gooooood

quickly drew something up - to make the logo look "finished" like your concept and first drafts - this is only a suggestion in a slightly different direction... to break up the horizontal space...

that looks really good!!! the only problem i have is that i would have liked the fist punching the ground to be more visible, as I see that as being the main part of the logo. but apart from that, it looks great. ill definetely take your idea into account and try to improve on my logo

Just 2 things I edited in that circle design of yours, yoda, It's just something that, in my opinion, looks better this way

this was done with stamp tool (my favourite tool in photoshop )
but I think you have the PSD file so you could easily do it better yourself

EDIT: I see you fixed the small gap already

I agree with paul it could have been more circle-ish (xD) .

I had this great idea for the band, you could use that round design yoda made to make badges (you know, that circle shaped plastic thingy you can attach to clothing) could be great
