Hi-res animated "gif"

Hello gurus,
i've a small question and any help would be really appreciated, i've made a search but i didn't found a "real solution".
I need to make some animated gifs from a sequence of rendered images of a character,
i know that .gif have the limit to 256 colors, but on web searching i found this :

EDIT: i can't post links...less than 5 post.
Anyway, you can found the images with searching "cinematic gif" on google

So the question is... what's the secret?
How can he do that gifs but withouth gradient banding?

Any help would be great.

it is dithering. You just aren't looking for it.
and because it is motion it is less noticeable.

Thank you guys for the fast answer, i know well about dithering and save for web, but i alwais get some banding.
