It was difficult to find a suitable image.
This edit is pretty quick, and it could use some more work on colour matching, but I need to go to sleep. I will do it tomorrow.

I really like the image you chose. It's an unexpected choice but it really works (once you fix the color matching).
 
I've had another go at colour correction, with a little bit of grading to seal the deal.

If I could offer one criticism... I think the woman is a little too bright and, more important, she is too evenly lit. The man has distinct shadows on his right side (our left), but the woman is lit evenly on all sides. I think it would help to darken her with shadow on her right side, and her torso should cast a dark shadow on the couch.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Damn, that's pretty good. I actually did do some darkening on the side, but I was afraid to go overboard, so I did a very small amount. Apparently much more was needed. (The photo was actually lit even more evenly before; I'm surprised at how well you could get it to work.)
 
I basically did three things:
  1. Used a Shadows & Highlights adjustment (on the woman only) to reduce the highlights.
  2. Very slightly desaturated the woman.
  3. Painted shadows with the brush tool using dark gray (about 75% gray) with a blend mode of Multiply.
Like I said earlier, I really like this image. The woman you chose is a perfect match.
