Hi, I have just joined this forum...

I needed clarification as to what you were cropping.

Even if you cropped ou the empty space to tighten the image, it should save properly as a png without the white bacground.

Let me work on your image....

if viewed in the forum's DARK STYLE (the web page has dark background , your image should look like this....

andandrea5ax copy.png

I deleted the white areas (this would look like what you have in your work document sans 2 layers) then tightened the image by selecting the contents leaving a few pixels from the corners of the picture and background. Menu direct saved (not via Web and devices) as png....

Well... if you approve of it.... you can use it,,,, less headache.....

then again, there's those white artifacts along the edges... remnants from the white selection / deletion...

Thank you very much dv8_fx...that's what I wanted to end up with ! I appreciate all the help given by all of you: IDad, ibclare, IanSam...amazing group, I'll hang around, I'll learn as much as I can...

Thanks again !

:-)

He wanted a blank background enframing his daughter's picture rotated at an angle with a green backdrop behind it.

I am a bit late to the party but will put my 2 cents worth in anyway. From what I understood of the request there are 2 solutions (at least). There is the simple one (1st attachment), and the less simple one (2nd attachment). The simple ones technique is pretty straight forward. Just sample the green area and then fill the white area with the sampled colour. The less simple one made use primarily of duplicate layers, copy and paste of select areas, content aware fill, and the clone tool.

Is it OK now?

Oh by the way, I am Barry, bgoodman is a bit formal.

Question, how do I delete uploaded images from the image manager (from the collection in the upper box)? Will doing so affect images that have been posted? Thanks

You had an earlier double post images came in late.... I've deleted it.

OK... Barry then....

In the PSG MENU BAR, Click on SETTINGS ... this will take you to your profile Settings.

On the left hand column, scroll down to and select Attachments to view a list of all images you've uploaded. If you wish to have thumbnail view, scroll down and you'll find SHOW THUMBNAILS on the left hand side.

Find and select the image/s for deletion... click the box on the right.

Scroll down , hit DELETE SELECTED .... image/s gone

Hope I didn't miss anything....

addendum ..... Yes I did.... lol

The image will be deleted in the post where it appears but your post remains intact. A link will appear in its place but when you click it, it will say ...... uhhhhh... something..... lol.... like "the image doesn't exist, contact administrator" .... I think.... lol ...

You can get rid of that invalid link window by editing the post, clicking on the image, and deleting it. That combined with deletion in settings (or alternatively in attachment manager), will remove the image and references to it altogether.
