Help with selection

I assume that is not the colour you selected in your colour overlay option it also looks like you have applied a layer style to your shape layer

if this is similar to what you want to achieve do your shape layer create a new layer above it and fill with black then go to filter > render fibers and clip that layer to your shape layer then create a new layer above that and select a woodish colour and make that into a clipping mask and set the layer blending mode to overlay and add a slight bevel and emboss to your shape layer for a bit of depth in you stick

Yeah it wasn't my original option so I tried to reduce opaqucity on the font and increased that of the image to achieve that effect. I also added distort>noice then 10% opaque. Now for the stick I will have to try out what you said. I'm sorry I dont know where everything is at. I'll look for the tools in your instruction

Actually scrap that Idea I dont want to be throwing in things that may confuse you but adding a colour overlay to the shape will remove a lot of the styles you apply to it.

Mylene, this is just a side note. Perhaps your image uploading problem is that - for some reason - the upload button will give me from computer choice one time, then url the next. If you look at the window, on the left is the from computer tab. Just a thought.
