I am getting nailed by a program that attaches itself to my hard drive and turns every instance of the word photoshop into a link that points to a search engine. It also changes my home page info, I have had this before and Adaware will find it so i can delete it but it keeps coming back. Has anyone else had this problem?

Got nailed by it 4 times today and I am a little tired of scanning my drives

Next time you run AdAware, write down what the little nasty's name is, and then do a web search on it. You'll probably find a site with details on where it comes from and how to eliminate it permanently.

You may also be reinfecting yourself from some site you are visiting.
You may need to up your security settings if you are running windows.

I use Spybot Search and Destroy. It's also free, and it finds things Adaware overlooked. (do take the correct one as there is a paying one that has appr. the same name and that is malware itself!)

It must be Patrick M. Kolla's Spybot S&D 1.2

As for your problem: ad ware is never that active. This is a kind of virus.

First empty all your temp files, temporary internet files also. Remove all unnecessary cookies.

Take a look at running progs (Ctrl Alt Del on XP), or get its name with Adaware or Spybot.

Enter that name in the search option of your registry and delete all entries. (this you do of course on your own risk. I never had any probs messing with the registry, much of the fear for it is unnecessary, but I cannot take responsability for someone else here.)

And take care where you surf, or what mails you open.

Yoiu have an updated viruskiller, firewall, dsl, cable modem,...?

Semi-blatent, sorta, kinda self promotional link...

Hey all!
I recently accepted a mod position over at www.indeptharts.com, a graphics Forum that deals with 3d apps, and 2d apps, Corel's Painter in particular, but all other 2d programs, Photoshop included. It's a friendly enough place, even though I'm a mod in the joint. [stuned] [saywhat] ;)
So, if you are a closet Painter user and would like to yack about that somewhat complex program, or your 3d creations, or even some Photoshop chitty-chat, I would like to invite you all over to visit. The gang over there is almost as fun and friendly as all of you here, so your presence will be most welcome should you decide to visit us.
I hope to see you over there!

Hey Rick.
My little sister had same problem. The thing i did was:
- First i deleted all of the Cookies.
- Than i went to Local Drive "C" in "Programm files" i selcted "Viev>Last Modifyed". And the folders that were recently installed were on the bottom. And if you dont know what the hell it is? "Delete it!!!". And if you gonna try to delete it and it will not? go to the Ctrl+Alt+delete than in procces shut down most of the users .exe`s or any other users dll`s instances "NOT SYSTEM FILES" its may boot your system.
- And if you will not find anything, try to do same thing only in "common files"

Good Luck i hope its gonna help 8))

I downloaded a program called Spyware Blaster and I haven't had a problem since. It doesn't scan of delete anything it stops them from coming in in the first place seems to work pretty good anf It is free for home use.
