I love your last post... tres cool! B7 :righton:

Hi There sPECtre

Thank you for the links...I will read them now!!! :)

Hi There Wendy!

Yes......Photoshop Elements Ver.....2.0

Yes thanks for comments....this one turned out pretty cool! I'm learning little by little...

Sooner or later I will break down and buy PS 8.0 when it comes out!

The problem seems to be that most everyone here is using PS-7 while I am using PS Elements 2....While most of the commands/instructions are the same...some are different....also I have most of the tools that are in PS7 but I don't have the pen tool....

But it's OK cause I can Learn enough with PS 2 for now...

I found Mark's tute on the Glass Pills.....the one with the pinstripe background....sortof looks like notepaper....I can't for the life of me reproduce that effect.....I follow the instructions to the letter but for some reason the pinstripe effect is not being saved in my patterns palette..

I wonder if anyone has any ideas?? Wendy? :)

Thanks to all!

[stuned] You gonna force me to do the tute... am I right ranger????

No probs guru... perhaps tomorrow! ;)

[excited] I'd be happy to "give it a go" and direct you... look for E-mails in the future on this subject!

Thank you Wendy!

I hope the answer is in a tute! I was following Mark's tute and I just can't seem to get to where the pattern saves to my pattern palette..

I will try it again later today....sometime's the first time I go through a tute I end up with Brain Cramps :bustagut: [confused]

Then later on through perserverence we end up with better results :B :}

How are you making out, Ranger? [confused]

I don't have an E-mail addy for you, so if you send it to me, maybe I can help you get past the point of creating the background pattern! ;) I'd PM you, but I can't add 'attachments' to a PM. :\

Yeah, you actually "forced me" to do the tutorial! [doh] ;) Twas fun, though!

Hi Ranger72,

For the background I used a TV lines pattern, and it is very easy to make.
Here is a pill I did with Marks tutorial :

Hi There Docilebob!

Long time no see!! Thanks very much for the link Thats a helluva good site for tutes and I have saved it in my favorites!!!

Those were great glass buttons you did off mark's tute there a while ago maybe you would'nt mind making a few more of those buttons and show us how you made it work!!!

Especially by inserting and resizing a reflective picture within the button that was agreat part of Mark's tute that you did very nicely!!!! :) :}

ranger72

hope we hear about it!!!

Hi There Folks! :)

Thank you Wendy!

The tute worked!

Unfortunately for me it is a beautiful day here in Western Maine so instead of playing with my Photoshop Pals I have to outside and paint my garage...loads of fun :P 8}

I'll show you some pills later.....have to paint before I play!

ranger72

Ranger72 and Wendy,
Thank you.
And Ranger you get a nice lines there. :)
Welcome back sue. :D

You're welcome on the tute thing Ranger! :righton: Yep, the lines look great and when you're finished painting the garage, I look forward to seeing how you make out with the rest of Mark's 'gel button' tutorial. ;)

Don't forget to "holler" for help, if you find that you need it! ;)

[doh] Argh! I was just out "sunning" myself on this gorgeous 'Canada Day', but it's too hot out there now and I had to come back in to the comfort of the A/C! How you can paint in this heat is beyond me! [confused]

thanks for the welcome back kudo's guys

I wish I could warm up [stuned] ever since I have arrived back I have been feeling cold no matter what the temp it seems....... perhaps I need to do some excercise to help my circulation he he he

Thanks, Ranger. Funny you should mention shiny things. I made this one last night.

tessball.jpg

This one is sort of involved...convoluted...strange way of getting there. (lots of my stuff is like that.)

It started off as Shazcan`s tesselation tutorial and mutated into this.
If you look closely, you can see some of Mark`s highlight/glassy tricks, some I learned from Stroker`s Tech Slop
And some odds and ends. The inner light , for instance is a white blob, Gaussian Blurred, and masked out where the tesselations are on the *front* of the ball. The distortion on the sphere is a combination of Displace and Spherize. The more details , the merrier, I say.

On the inverted reflection thing, it`s just that. Start with an image with nice contrast, turn it upside down, clip it to the sphere,(mask it if you can`t clip it) set mode to soft light, overlay, whatever works best on the colors involved, displace/shperize it, and reduce the opacity.

Although I don`t know how much of this will help you, `cause I`ve never used LE, so I`m not sure how much of this is available to ya.

I must say, though, it`s been inspiring to watch your growth here, and your hunger for knowledge. Well done, man. Keep it up.

docilebob! :righton: Very nice evolution!
