Editing PNG Image

Hi everyone,

I'm a complete noob and need some help..

I need to edit the numbers in the attached tables.

Anyone know how I can easily do this? I can erase it with the eraser and type new text but that erases the background color as well so for the one image the white background is wiped out and you can see a grey smug from the eraser effect...and for the other image the blue background becomes wiped...so I need an experts response on how I can edit the texts properly.
