right first off, I understand that people may not like this suggestion.

I have an idea, at the moment we have a user group called, "Privileged Users", from what I can tell it stop posts being moderated, how about having the option to also have the adds removed from the site fully.

And also be able to embed YouTube videos, and maybe costomise there profile page.

Here is the catch tho, for people that want to do this, there is a one time fee of $10 (or somthing) this would make up for the loss in add rev, by not having them there.

The people that would be paying for this would be members that want to stay, as they wouldn't be paying for it if they didn't, (money is also an isue, and peple may not be able to pay for the "Privileged Users" status)

Also add a user title, and user image like you have for Admin and mods, but saying Privileged Users.

Again, this is just an idea, not hating, or flaming please :) if it's a bad idea, thats fine as most people wont like it.

But please be open minded, and staff have a chat about it and see what you think :)

It might be a big help to the forum and to the regular users. I'll think about this.

Anyone else have some ideas of what could be offered to VIP/Donors?

Thanks again for the suggestions KRF.

Ok here are my ideas to start the ball rolling

  • Remove adds
  • No moderating posts
  • Can post links in very first post (this is for people that donate before posting)
  • Profile customisation
  • Maybe make a donation forum where only people that have donated get to hang out
  • Have bigger space for a forum Sig
  • Turn on BB code in forum sigs lol at that one
  • Stop other non donaters enbedding vidoes, and only let donated member be able to do this
  • A change of user name colour to show that you are a member that has donated***

These may work or not just some ideas :)

*** If this does happen, maybe ther shold be a user name colour change like this, Admins Mods Donated users normal members and maybe having a star like you said would also help donated membes stand out

Again just an idea

So I'm still up for the idea of the donations, I will donate just to be put in a user group to get rid of the add the site has, any chance this may happen?

by more work, what do you mean?

I didn't understand what you meant, thats why I asked lol, but it does sound like a good idea, alas, the forum will need some work doing to it before that will happen :)

And by the way Blackpool, really?

lol nope it don't seam good for people coming to visit, plus I live in Burnley, so if I cared about football, I really shouldn't like you ha ha ha

I don't know, I go to a couple of sites like that.
Having some perks as a "donating member" is a good idea, but crippling a lot of the features is something I don't think will work.
If someone really likes this site and wants to help build it back up they may want to contribute, but if you make it difficult for the new user they'll just look someplace else.

As it is some legitimate new users that come here complain about the 10 post minimum to post a link.
If you tell them to set up a Photobucket account or give us $10 if you want to post an image, they may walk away.

Again I'm not against the idea but don't cripple the new or non contributing member, enhance the features for contributing member.

Steve, I like where you are going with this, any thoughts on what you would think would be a good addition for contributing member could be?

Lol, there seems to be a lot more supporters this season for some reason.

lol that what hapend with Burnley FC, then they went down and all the glory hunters left, and before you ask how I know I work 5 min walk from the club, and there are a lot of supporters there, even the suicide squad, whitch is quite interesting some time lol

Maybe PSG should act as a third party for freelancers, by way of getting a cut of what you get paid for getting the work in, which would surely channel there efforts into advertising this site to potential customers. I don't know!

I don't know, I never thought about it until I saw your idea.
I don't know what additional benefits a subscriber could get.
Little things can be added for a subscriber and little things trimmed off of what we now have for a non subscriber.
I don't know I really don't but you don't want to put barriers in front of a new user.

Ok I have had some thoughts.

Let the members that have donated to the site:

Have no adds on the forum.
Have a bigger PM box (it's now at 200? maybe make it 1k)
Be able to have more lines in sigs/have images in them.
Have accses to a donation only forum.
Have a different user bar/ user title showing they have donated.

These are the ideas I have come up with, do these sound ok with other people?

What you do is round up all the tuts and packs made by PSG's and put them in a PSG's VIP section, along with that you can offer one on one help with stuff...

Disabling things is a no no..

I seem to get getting people saying "disabling things is a no" but I can't see anything I have suggested to be disabling anything, just adding to what the members have now, but only givng it out to people that donate.

I think Kevin is just adding his vote to what's already been said.
Your new suggestions are more in line with what I was thinking.

A "Suppurating Member" banner can be added a private section sound good to.
As for one on one support, members are really getting that now.
