Hello Everyone! This is my first time posting on the forums.
I'm working on a personal project in photoshop and I've hit a bit of a creative roadblock of sorts so I thought I would turn to the community for some input since I know there are some really talented graphic designers out there. Imagine in a futuristic world - sort of cyberpunk style - where people get neural and retinal implants which gives them a persistent virtual display superimposed in their field of vision. We've seen variation of this concept before in movies where characters in the background are walking and displays with information on the person pop up on the screen.
What I'm working on is an interface for a HUD, a little more high tech than what you see in the movies, but the kind of technology which inhabits a dystopian cyberpunk world. I'm having a few issues with my draft however. I'm working on a 2560x1080 canvas (native resolution of my monitor) and here is what is bothering me:
The dreaded interface frame.
I did proceed further with the draft and created a HUD which looked cool if I was playing a Mechwarrior game, but it wasn't what I was aiming for with this project (if anyone wants to see the the more complete draft let me know).
I already know what the problem is and I just need a little bit of input. The issue is the frame and then it hit me. I'm aiming for the look of a virtual interface from a retinal implant so the frame for the interface needs to be in a rounder more of an eyeball shape - particularly the cornea - and this is where I could use help.
I don't want it to be perfectly round, but curved enough to appear it could fit around the cornea. I know there is some technique, tip, or trick I'm overlooking to get the frame into the shape I want, but I just can't think of it and I'm drawing a blank since there are a million different ways to do one thing in photoshop.
Playing round with a draft trying to get the frame into a round shape I like I started Using arch from the warp menu here is what I came up with:
I'm not going to lie, it looks pretty cool although it doesn't suit my needs due to the perspective bend.
So my question to the community would be how would you curve / bend / warp the frame into a rounder shape without skewing the perspective?
Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated and if you all want I can post the final result for you all to see the impact of your contributions. I know I will be very grateful at this point.
