Composite Contest, 3 Images provided

Yes! A great observation! I did not notice the Pepperoni Pizza!

Not having a go Kurisuchan? Maybe you could turn all three images into something...

here is my humble contribution

I was going to go weird but decided to go more traditional.

Nice Job Chris Mcghee...though the reflection looks wrong and needs some adjustment. A reflection is always vertical and looks more like this. Though it could be very tricky because of the angle of the car.

You can always post another pic, in case you decide to go weird. Give it a try, why not?

ChrisM, I was thinking the same as ChrisD on the reflection! It's a bit hard to do as the reflection would include the bottom of the car.

Like ChrisD, I made a quick example that still needs work! I used the Transform Tools to re-shape the reflected image! It's not an easy task!

Your shadow is a bit off and a bit too strong, but overall a very good job!

To place a believable reflection is almost impossible. In any case it would be a black reflection, because the fenders are so prominent almost no green color would show in the reflection. I can see this now!!! My version is to strong as you mentioned, but I thought it looked good and shiny on the wet street. Though your version of the reflection looks best, I have to admit.

Thanks Chris!

I know you don't think this, but I'm not trying to "one up" you here!

We both had the same idea and posted our examples. We were probably working on them at the same time! I think your example looks great as well!

I would tend to agree. The Reflection was the hardest part. This one is great though.

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm not into composites, but, to me, the simulated reflection in all these cases looks way too mirror-like to be coming from a thin film of water on a rough, uneven, stone pavement.

I would run the reflection through one of the PS filters that break up an image such as "Splatter", "Sprayed Strokes", "Glass", "Ocean Ripple", or even a displacement map derived from a HPF version of the street to make it less mirror smooth.

Just my $0.02,

T

Thanks Tom for your input. I tried out your suggestions, and I liked the result.
I posted an updated version with an adjusted reflection.
