Changing the colour in a standard B & W Logo

He said he wanted to change white to purple, I suggested a very fast and easy approach that doesn't require even making a selection. If he had said he required an exact color, then that would be a different story.

One more, Hue Saturation adjustment layer set to colorize:

LOL..... On an open-minded, broader sense, I like this thread.... lol

A small compilation of tricks to achieve a single task in Photoshop....... good for beginners..... should merit a sticky on this one......

 Thank You very much!

I feel my pride are growing and i must cut down size of it (otherwise karma will (it ALWAYS happen)).
Thats all is old knowledge, i suppose to be color master (at least my employer think so so do i sometimes) and its my job. For about few weeks i haven't learn much knew for a shame but i will resume getting upgraded.

Agree, it looks at begin that will be little "boring" easy but it grows itself to almost tutorial.

Yes, thats good way and very easy too. I didn't say it isn't. Just tried to compare them thats all.

It was dv8_fx's method I found to be the easiest, the only one that worked for me.
Anyway, my latest elementary problem is the following. I want to take that logo and put it into a black header, so obviously it needs to be resized. (exhibit a) Now, I resized the logo, no issues. Once I drag that logo into the header, it appears at FULL SIZE (exhibit b) Whatever attempt I have at resizing the logo within the header fails, and it results in reducing the size of the header completely (exhibit c) I HATE MY LIFE.

If you are resizing the logo before dragging it into the header image, resize the logo slightly smaller than the height of the header and at the same resolution used in the header. Pay attention to the size displayed as hilited in my image...
