Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! Soooooooo cute these kitties are! :righton:
Great picture Geoff and, surprisingly, one I didn't have on my HD! ;)

Here's another example of a kitten's need to nap...anywhere that is! :}

Our Burmese cat Brutus Puntilus. My wife's photo timing could not have been more perfect. Cat's name came from an evening of champagne consumption -- his color phase is called champagne, brute is my favorite style of champagne, and the indentation in the bottom of a champagne bottle is the punt.

hey great pic there Al Kolka looks like a fighter to me ;) ;)
omg "Wendy" does that cat look like Trixie or what?!?! cutest pic ever! :D :D

Al Kolka, that is one very rare feline action shot :righton: .

Geoff, that reminds me of something we used to do (my wife that is). We tried instilling dental hygeine in all our cats a few years ago. After a few days of brushing their teeth, we gave up :bustagut: :b .

Why? Try doing that to a dozen cats - howls, scratches, chasing each one of them, all the cajoling, handcuffing and ruffled hairs and tempers :bustagut: .

Al Kolka, your wife really did capture an amazing shot!!!! 8) Let her know how impressed we are! ;) And thank you for sharing it with us here! :righton: We don't call this thread "Cat Lovers" for nothing.... :D :D :D

Vee... OMIGOD, I'm the proud owner of a wasted "cat toothbrush" as well ;) and I totally relate to (not in terms of 'volume') as far as your undertaking re dental hygiene is concerned! :bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut:

[confused] Ummmm... it kinda reminds me of my first experience with bathing a cat.... 8[ [doh] After that "horrific experience", my vet proceeds to tell me that there's no need to do so... cat's bathe themselves! :\

Now... I let the cats bathe themselves and I give them "teeth cleaning" cat treats! Live and learn.... [innocent]

wow Vee sounds like brushing their teeth is as difficult as giving my cat's a bath :bustagut: :bustagut: my mom will tell you that when it came to bathing our bigger cat, she had to wear a rain coat and protective gloves!! :bustagut: speaking of baths...

Don't remind me of cat baths, please (is there a begging smiley?). It's the one day in a month I dread :( .

I have to wear thick gloves against scratches, a raincoat so I won't join the cats in bath, earplugs to dull the howls, a lasso just in case I need to reel them in and a gin tonic to calm my ruffled nerves :bustagut: :bustagut: .

vee

:bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut: Yes, I love that pic Geoff!

:bustagut: Vee! Oh man, do I relate! :D

Geoff is right... oh the horror stories I have! 8[ (only two 'cause that's how many times I attempted it before I went running to the vet)!!!! What a relief when he told me that baths weren't necessary, in my case, as my cats are pretty much "indoor cats". Phew (where's the "wipe your brow" emoticon?)

Yet, what was worse than the actual bath was their reaction to the blow dryer! :} :bustagut: :bustagut:

I have half a mind to give it another "go"... just for entertainment purposes... if you know what I mean! [:I Geoff knows... [innocent]

FYI, if you insist on bathing your cats, forget the rubber gloves (the claws tear through them easily enough) wear oven mitts! As sloppy and soggy as they get, they offer great padding/protection and they're a perfect vehicle to lather up and transfer the shampoo! ;)

:bustagut: haha a catfish :bustagut: yah curiostiy does do something to a cat, but cat-lovers won't say what it is exactly :D :D

Thank everyone for their kind remarks regarding our Jumping Brutus photo. I'll pass them all to my wife when she gets back from her back packing trip.

Here is a shot of our newer Burmese kitten, Kona Kai. Photo frame created with Xara X.

Kona Kai is a real beauty Al Kolka! :) :righton:
How many felines allow you to share your space with them?

Wendy,

One cat at a time. When we lost Brutus to illness--he lived a full, rambunctous 16 years--we went looking and brought Kona Kai home.

Al

Thanks for the reply Al! ;) I only asked 'cause some of our members have a dozen +!!! :}

That's wonderful that your Brutus enjoyed 16 rambunctious years! :) I hope that Kona Kai brings you as much pleasure! ;)

16 years - inhuman terms thats about 90. For a cat to live that long, he was spoiled to bits, constant love and companions, no worries hakuna matata.

wendy, the gloves I spoke of were heavy duty electical gloves ( if you know how thick that is :bustagut:) .

vee

hey cool Kona Kai looks just like my Natasha when she was alive and young...... a chocolate Burmese....... beautiful! :D
