A Dog Story from A CAT OWNER

We must be the luckiest Pied Dr. Dolittle Piper of sorts [stuned] .

There's a band of stray dogs that hang out in a coffeshop near our place. I know these dogs coz we feed them sometimes. Whenever I go there, I'll have a train of canine escorts on my return home.

Four nights ago, our own dogs were barking up a storm. My daughter went out to investigate and to her surprise, one of the stray dogs was there at the front gate with an enormously handsome German Shepard - the first and only one I've ever seen in our neighborhood. I didn't bother it thinking it'll go home to wherever he came from.

I had to scold the stray dog. What does she think of us - ANIMAL WELFARE HOUSE? ( OK, ;\ sort of..... )

But the following morning it was still there. What am I to do? So I took in the quite friendly canine. And for the next couple of days asked around if anyone in the neighborhood was missing a dog. Even posted notices in the store a couple of blocks down. He can't be from afar coz he still smells nice and clean.

Until today, no one has yet come forward looking for a missing GS. Looks like that stray dog knew what she was doing. A setup, I tell ya.

OH MY GAAAAAWD, ANOTHER MOUTH TO FEED. AND A HUGE ONE ( one chicken a sitting and still asking for more) [confused] :bustagut:. BTW, he's friendly to our cats.

And by the looks of it, he's here to stay :{ :{ :bustagut: :bustagut: .

I wish I got a picture to show the handsome one to you guys. ;)

[stuned] OMIGOD, another mouth to feed??? [confused] I just hope that your wallet is as big as your heart, Vee! ;)

Nice story, btw... and all I will add is that this is one smart doggie! :D

[confused] I'm almost afraid to ask, but what's the "animal count" at your house these days... 8[

Vee: Fortunately, we're left with 19 cats ( for how long, I wouldn't know ). The others were adopted by friends.
Down a couple, I see...which left room for your new 'adoptee'! :D

When you say "for how long" I only hope that you're not intimating that the German Sheppard might have part in reducing your inventory! !! [stuned] ;) :P

and dogs, Vee... how many? [confused] You mentioned that your own dogs (plural) started barking...

We've got 2 up front and 1 in the backyard. Nothing special- local dogs but my favorite is the male silverfox ( that's what I call him coz he's all white long hair).

Not to mention the 6 stray dogs in the area :bustagut: . At least I feel safe at night. They bark at anyone who comes.

I've always had a dog since I was a kid, the last one I had back home was a champion breed toy poodle.

Yes, tell me all about it...dogs that act like an alarm...ours does it a bit TOO much [confused]

I can see it now.......... Vee out house hunting...... the criterias?
must have large back and front yard containing scratching trees and 6 dog kennels........ a cat playground and a digging area for the dogs :bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut:

.Sue, there's truth in your words. :bustagut: :bustagut: We are looking for a such a place. :bustagut: :bustagut: . Nor only becoz of the animals but Shyma's orchids and plants as well [confused] .

Our place is more of a Botanical and Zoological Garden.

vee

:bustagut: :bustagut: :bustagut: must have looked into the crystal ball ha ha ha
